I attended a wedding in Rajasthan Palace hotel where all the wedding guests were put up in this hotel as well as nearby hotels. My experience with this venue was worst possible. There is no room service and for even a bottle of water, you have to run to the reception to get it. There are only 3 persons who manage the reception, the restaurant as well as all other work. They will not even serve morning tea in the room. When I had reached the venue early in the morning at about 6:30 am there was no one at the reception and the whole hotel was in darkness. No one was there to carry out luggage to our rooms or tell us about which room we have been put up. We had to search the venue and finally discovered a sleeping staff. We woke him up and he went away searching for reception staff and came back after half an hour with another man. Sleepily, he directed us to a room but we had to carry our own luggage as he told we do not have staff as of now. He advised us to leave the luggage at reception and the staff will bring it to the room after an hour. But we saw that this hotel is not safe because when we had entered no one was there was no one to attend us. So, we managed with the luggage o our own climbing the stairs. Later we came to know that there is a lift too but we were not told about it by the receptionist about this. There is very limited seating in the restaurant and people had to wait for their turn which did not look nice. They had limed crockery and so they have wooden sticks (similar to what we get with ice-cream cups) instead of steel spoons and they expected us to have food with such spoons. The food in this restaurant is horrible. There was no room service, no cleaning of rooms and no replenishment of tea bags, etc. For wedding ceremonies this is the worst place as they will never serve water, tea or cold drinks to the guests unless repeatedly reminding them. They have very limited open space that is just of no use unless you want to have a congested gathering where there is shortage of chairs and you want your guests to stand. The food that we had was the worst of its kind. The koftas were like hard stones, vegetables were of very bad taste. Dal was pathetic. We know that if the food is not nice then no one enjoys the wedding ceremony. And this hotel helped in that too. Never ever try the Dal Bati thnking that as it is Rajasthani dish you will get good experience here. You are thinking of having a wedding ceremony here, but are you aware that there is absolutely no parking available here. Just 5 cars can be parked near the entrance and other cars have to be parked far away going through small lanes to discover empty places to park your car with no guarantee of safety. Overall this place could be avoided as there are hundreds of better options in Jaipur and nearby places which give you all the conveniences that are needed for holding a wedding ceremony if you really want the guests to be comfortable and enjoy the event.
