Between the smell of raw sewage from the instant the elevator door opened and the TRULY DESPICABLE service and treatment from the staff it actually got worse. Zero flexibility or help from the staff. Except for one (Derek was awesome). Served our beer and wine out of ice tubs and genuinely treated a vast majority of attendees like we were just a huge problem. The bartender (just one bartender for almost a hundred and fifty people) told numerous people that she regretted taking the shift. This is a wedding consisting of 70% service industry workers who know what hospitality means and who treat hospitality workers like royalty. The "coordinator", if you could call her that, showed up at 3 o'clock for a 5 I o'clock event start and was gone HOURS before the event ended. The chairs for the actual wedding at 5:30 were still bring set up at 5:25. They charged $1300 to bring outside beer, wine and alcohol and DO NOT HAVE A COOLER. Seriously. They don't have a walk in cooler. They have a fridge and when we told them the wedding cake had to be refrigerated, acted a little put-out and said verbatim "well I mean I guess we can try and make some room for it". All the beer, wine and champagne wine sat out warm for hours before they iced it 20 minutes before the wedding. They charged TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS and the wedding party did 85% of all the work. They even had a rehearsal for another wedding the SAME DAY from 1 o'clock to 2:30 and refused to let us bring anything for the wedding until afterwards. And the food was a solid 2 out of ten. Underseasoned and undersauced pasta dishes with garlic bread that was so tough it was clearly microwaved. . Oddly they did have some of the best ceaser dressing I've ever had though. Please PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THIS VENUE FOR A WEDDING. They were a pure nightmare. They told us as we were loading out that we were the worst wedding party they've ever dealt with when all we did was ask them over and over and over for basic service, help and simple accommodations that a venue worth anything provides. We had zero incidents, nothing was broken, ZERO issues with over-intoxication and we cleaned up after ourselves. When we went back the follwing morning to pick up everything (wedding cake, flowers, excess beer and wine) they didn't refrigerate the wedding cake as they assured us they would and it had to be thrown out. They left all the flowers out in a warm back room and they all wilted and had to be thrown out. And told us we couldn't use the elevators for beer kegs, wine and centerpiece vases due to "insurance issues" (clearly purposely spiteful) and made us walk everything up an intensely steep ramp outside that led to a locked gate. If you book this venue YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY regret it. Don't do it to yourself and just stay away from Chateau Rive
