We?re both avid travellers and have an enviable wish list of places we?d like to go to. The Lake Resort came up on our list of hill stations. It?s an offbeat venue that was not too difficult to reach and had the perfect setting. The owners are such lovely people and went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly.

We knew what we wanted from the get go and had carefully curated Pinterest boards for each function before we even found the venue. Wedding Duo was excellent at stitching the look together and ensuring each element met ours and their exacting standards.

Given that we both have advertising and event management backgrounds, we had done a lot of the groundwork and planning towards knowing exactly what we wanted and where and how and the event flow, etc. Wedding Duo were a great fit for us because they could just hit the road running and execute for us, bringing it all to life. Once we reached the venue Aliya and Vishal were able to execute our vision flawlessly. They were patient and took the time to understand the detailed requirements the wedding called for. On D-Day there were ZERO bridezilla moments, all thanks to them.

Shilpa Jain is a family friend and was the natural choice when we first started planning. I was nervous as D day loomed closer since we had not done a trial, but Shilpa was excellent with what she did. We discussed the looks via whatsapp and PPTs beforehand and she nailed them. She was a comfort to have around!

Invitations

Sakina has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Ever patient, she always responds quickly and becomes invested in your wedding. She not only saw our vision through but worked constantly to improve on it and give us something better than we had imagined. The end result was a gorgeous suite that was on theme and makes us very happy to look at every day. She worked with us mostly through whatsapp which allowed for detailed feedback and minimum interference in our work schedules.

Groom Wear

Gaurav Khanijo is full of ideas and very enthusiastic. Khanijo was the first place we visited and we fell in love with his traditional but edgy clothes.

Bridal Wear

The outfit I ended up wearing was the 2nd outfit I got made from him for my Mehendi as I wasn?t fully in love with the first one. He was patient in hearing out what I wanted and made me something that I loved.

Raw Mango has to be one of my favourite designers ever. I love the clean, modern yet tradition look he creates and the staff at his (wow!) flagship store in Chattarpur are very helpful in deciding your look.

Sirjana was a great find and I was so happy with my wedding jewellery. My haath phool, brooch and a bangle were from what my mum wore for her wedding. They were so gorgeous.

Eurumme had the rustic, contemporary jewellery I had been looking for, for my Christian wedding. It lifted, what was somewhat a traditional outfit and gave it a modern twist.

We were sure we didn?t want to do multiple cuisines in each meal and initially worried that the hills would not provide the variety or quality of food we would like. All of this was needless worrying as the caterers did an excellent job on all meals ? BBQ, continental, pahadi and Indian. Very impressed with the final output even though we had tasted everything before putting it on the menu beforehand.
