I was always drawn to Gotapatti, and came across Hansa Khatwani on Wedmegood and Facebook. Hansa’s work has this neatness and detail in the embroidery that most Gotapatti lenghas fail to exude. She offered to co-ordinate the lengha planning and design from across the world, and I was really impressed by her communication. When the time came closer to the wedding, she stopped sharing images of the process and said that she was waiting till it was completed. She did not deliver on time and after a lot of back and forth, (not to forget driving all the way to Jaipur from Delhi less than a week before my wedding!) when I finally got to try the lengha, the blouse fitting was horrible. It looked lopsided and was poorly made; yet she just would not agree that there was an issue at all. Instead, she gave me cheeky answers when I confronted her about how it wasn’t fitting right. Agreed, the designer had an old blouse, which she was to use as reference. But it wasn’t about being loose or tight. It was the neatness with which it should have been stitched. After multiple tries, and reworks I had to leave the piece with her and hope that her tailor would fix it. After I got the final delivery (5 days before the wedding), the blouse fitting was still terrible. I had to get it re-stitched by my grandma’s tailor, who was actually amused at the craftsmanship of the blouse. The left side was 1.5 inches longer than the right! Yes, it was cut incorrectly! What made my experience ugly was Hansa’s horrible and unkind attitude, she not only refused to acknowledge that there was a problem but was really rude. It was a very unprofessional experience, as she did not care weather I was comfortable and satisfied with my wedding outfit or not. It was all about getting paid and washing her hands off the piece.
Source

They made me the perfect outfit from scratch! I explained what I had in mind with little scribbles - and they interpreted it and implemented it to perfection.
