Hi all! Nowadays we see a lot of photographers charge a bomb fee for the wedding event. I’m sure I’m not the only one who have burnt the fingers. In 2019, I hired @girishkatksr to cover my wedding events. Little that I know, that his unprofessional behaviour has left me pondering upon the service this industry is offering. Can you believe it, he’s still not shared full data files and scope of activities that we had agreed on and it’s been 3 years to my wedding. We’ve been trying to reach him but he remains unavailable to answer our calls. I’d like to request and urge everyone to pls share story in their network and let people like @girishketkar know that even though your work is great your work ethics is disgraceful. And offcourse, goes without saying “Not To Hire Him”!

Writing this because I'm feeling extremely cheated, distressed and mindfucked! So while we were planning our wedding, Nandan was travelling around the world to Canada/Italy/Korea/Indore and I was admist my residency, and we did not have much time on our hands. So we booked Girish Katkar because we knew he had shot weddings for multiple couples from KEM without much thought or discussion. We did not discuss the intricacies of the contract and *it was a big mistake* . We did not have any written package details before booking. So ours was a one day wedding event(photos & videos) and one day haldi mehendi function (only photos) booked at Rs 1,25,000. We had multiple times messaged him to visit the venue so he gets a fair idea. He said that it's really not needed. This was in May-June 2019. 6th Dec 2019: We had our haldi mehendi at Serene Hills and Ashwin paid entire 15000 Rs same day at the end of the function. He didn't discuss it with parents as they were busy attending the guests. I had messaged him a detailed timetable of the various veedhis/pujas/ expected time for each and chronology of events that were planned on the Wedding day and believe me each event happened at the exact time it was supposed to happen. There was absolutely no confusion/rush or anything of that sort which is normally expected at any BIG FAT INDIAN WEDDING Photos of decor and venue were also sent as he had not come to see the venue. He had also asked us the he would do a pre-wedding photoshoot in this package as a 'bonus' but we were so damn busy that we never had time for it. He had promised that the team will stay right from the start of the function till the very end. He had never told us he won't be at venue until a day prior. He was not present at the venue on the DDay. He sent his team. No photos of lunch that happened on ground floor were clicked. We had realised this, that entire team was stationed only at the first floor. *Nandan's dad even reminded the lead of the team - Mr Dhananjay* that they had missed the lunch photos, and to not miss out on the evening dinner. Again, no photos of evening dinner clicked which happened on ground floor. No candids of reception. No photos of bride and groom dinner. No photos of bidaai. These precious moments cannot ever be recreated again. They are lost forever. Dhananjay even came up and asked Nandan whether they can leave just after reception. Bride and groom dinner was not done until then. Nandan requested one person to stay until bride and groom dinner is done and rest could start packing up. He also paid him half the amount. They *all left.* Biddai missed. Dinner missed. We started getting multiple calls for remaining payment next week. Nandan's dad paid remaining amount immediately the following week as soon as he opened up his Dadar office. He didn't know that Ashwin had already paid for haldi mehendi. *This was when we had no photos/videos in our hand* Almost 15days later, we realised that Nandan's dad had repaid for Haldi Mehendi. So we confronted him. Dhananjay said he will give extra 1TB Hard disk and album with that and 'adjust' the payment. They didn't even acknowledge that Nandan's dad had paid extra 15K themselves. Had we not realised ourselves, we would have lost the money. So by this time he had entire payment plus 15 K extra with him ie 1,40,000Rs in total. He finally gave the unedited photos in Mid January via a *64 GB pendrive*. No hardisk. *Forget the extra harddisk.* Nandan was already in Delhi by then. We took the pendrive to delhi. We had such a tight schedule at Delhi. 8-8pm was my IFocus. We used to sit up at night and sort the photos we wanted in the album. He also sent a 3 Min trailer and 19 min video. *Video did not include afternoon reception.* Many of our guests who had come in afternoon did not come in evening. So those were completely missed. We did not like the background music. We asked him to change it. Yet to receive the new background music. We did not get any unedited video footage. So basically entire day's function cramped in 19mins is all what we have. When asked, we were told ' package doesn't include unedited footage.' Nandan's parents then went to Delhi for 3 days 26-28FEB. One entire day they went through the photos and selected them for their album. In March Ashwin and Nandan's dad respectively named and numbered each and every photo. Sorted out every photo and arranged everything chronologically. There was absolutely no delay from our side. We did all of this in whatever time we had after handling our jobs/residency/two different cities. We had selected 435 photos and Nandan's dad 375. We had realised by now he missed so many photos and video footage of lunch/dinner/ candids. So we crowd sourced our photos from nandan's cousins and friends and included those photos in the album. We also included a few photos of pre- wedding events as many of our relatives didn't come up for our lunch reception on stage and were completely missed due lack of photos of lunch/dinner scene and also to have a complete compilation. Then lockdown happened and we were ready to send everything via courier as he was apparently stuck at Satara with no internet connection. So uploading photos on drive wasn't an option. Courier services were not functioning either. We waited patiently. Sent everything by mid-May. He then told us that our package is 'only for 300 photos and 30 pages'. * ' *Again this was never ever mentioned* in any previous discussion. He gave reasons like if album had too pages it will become loose and pages will come out. June 23, 2020: After multiple reminders on our group for sending a sample of 2-3 pages he finally sent a soft copy of the entire album. Ashwin sat down and counted. It had 415 photos instead of 435. Entire chronology disturbed. Everything a mess. No album edit/designing/nothing. Just a plain collage with one photo next to each other. Ashwin had renamed each and every photo. Arranged them chronologically as they should appear in album. Made separate folder for each event and sent. It took him almost a month to do all of this and managing his residency. Ashwin is extremely particular with each photo. Same with nandan's dad. Half the work was done for Katkar He just has to edit them and make an album. Instead just sent in a normal album with no edit like any album we have had in older times. One photo next to eachother. Woh Karna Hota toh I would have also done. Why pay him? Then I sent him the designs that I was expecting which I would have sent had he sent samples of 2-3 pages instead of complete album. He said those designs are all 'old fashion and not in trend'. I wanted seamless photos without harsh borders, blending into eachother. He said the new trend is to just put photos next to each other. I told him I don't mind the "old fashioned trend". We had a zoom call and discussed everything again on July 5. He promised he will be sending sample designs and we can start approving. Again multiple reminders and with no replies on WhatsApp. Finally yest after calling him multiple times he tells Nandan that he can't find a designer who designs seamless photos. I don't think my demand is anything out of the world. He had also shown me Dr Keshav Pai's wedding album during the previous zoom meet which had similar design. I also then realised that my wedding album is of smaller size 12*36 instead of 30*20 which Dr Keshav Pai had. He said that this size is not included in 'package' when no size details where given in first place. It's been 8 months now and we are yet to receive: Albums Trailors with changes. Edited videos with changed background music Unedited videos photoage Not even considering the the already lost lunch/dinner/biddai photos/videos. *And all this after having paid such exhorbitant amount and extra within two weeks of function*

Hi all! My husband and I got married at the end of 2019 and due to our small budget, we hired a beginning photographer. While I have seen more than a few shares of great photographers get seemingly unjustified bad reviews, you have to remember that even amazing photographers can provide a poor experience. We signed a contract that said he would have an online photo gallery delivered 3-4 months after the date of the wedding. On the day of the wedding, he had said he would send us a few sneak peek images within a week or so, but no response to that... Girish and his team were super disappointed with regards to the work and to the delivery of the final product. It's sad to see the owner himself (GIRISH KATKAR ) getting drunk in the middle of the Function and creating a scene and misbehaving with the guest. Not sure if I will ever recommend him EVER! SUPER DISAPPOINTED with his service. It is now 2022, sadly no handover is still not done.

Girish and his team did a great job at my wedding! I live overseas and I only had 10 days before the wedding to finalize all the wedding preparations. Despite the time crunch, Girish managed to get all our requirements in a timely manner and followed up regularly over WhatsApp or phone for any clarification which resulted in amazing and high quality photos and videos. I highly recommend Girish as a wedding photographer!!
