Ameva Goa Events

We worked with Geetanjali and the Ameva Goa team starting January for planning our wedding in October. Right off the bat, we appreciated Geetanjali’s knowledge of our preferred wedding destination of Goa. She had strong relationships with key vendors and was instrumental in connecting us with, and negotiating good rates with them. She had a keen sense for matching our preferences to the right vendors. We greatly appreciate her recommendations for certain vendors, such as, our beautiful venues Radisson Blu and Grand Gigi’s, our DJ Akshay Chari and make up artist Zarina. They were all awesome. Communication with these vendors prior to the wedding went smoothly with her facilitation. However, the actual execution of important elements, such as decor and on-site vendor coordination, was not what we had agreed upon. Our wedding decor was a confused execution of our ideas, which would have benefitted from more communication and insights from the team prior to the events. For example, when an event venue ended up being smaller than expected for the agreed upon decor, the team did not consult us or advise us on possible options to amend this and instead, executed a sloppy version of what we had asked for. Although we had fun and, in the end, created beautiful memories, it was extremely off-putting to walk into each venue with the original vision not being met. Upon discussing this with the team, we were met with defensiveness and poor accountability for their lack of action. All we were told was that guests praised them for the decor and planning. For us what stood out like a sore thumb was the professional rivalry between Ameva Goa and Grand Gigi’s teams. It detracted the Ameva Goa team from its responsibility to follow up and oversee the wedding venue’s decor as well. While their intentions may have been good, the team was too inexperienced and had to be repeatedly instructed by us to do even simple tasks. The purpose of hiring a wedding planner is to have your vision turn into reality without a hitch. This we found lacking in Ameva Goa for the aforementioned reasons. We strongly believe that they would benefit from more training and taking ownership of their errors.
