BY Latha Sunadh | 02 Jun, 2016 | 1476 views | 2 min read

Wedding favours might be getting predictable but that doesn't mean that there's new inspiration just around the corner! In this modern age, favours stopped being about Indian or western things, but more like a mish-mash of the two resulting in amazing creativity. That's exactly why the muse of the moment for us is assorted cheese platter inside a mason jar as wedding favours. Now, that's something no one has ever done before and it goes off into hampers and bags with such glee even before your guests can say "cheese". a6d0809a380192a07a14eb9dda0b904f 4f7b0c96e049e1bcec28c61d4c14aa83

Now what's it about these cheese favours that are getting us so so excited? First, they are hipster meets awesome and no one can ever say no to cheese right? And two, with cheese now taking centrestage in our household, it makes sense to give away something fun, tasty and useful. It's not like it's a photoframe or a diya that everyone keeps on the showcase and forgets about it. This is CHEESE people - we consume it with happiness! And above all, with India now coming out with it's fair share of cheese - all types and all kinds, it only makes it a gourmet offering like special tea and unique coffee. So no more cheesecake, more cheese! 9188b54883f25c792445432bf26ab825 What kind of cheese should one look for? The usual suspects are divided into soft, semi-firm, aged and blue. That means, feta, goat cheese and brie for soft. Cheddar, gouda and manchego are semi-firm while parmigiano is aged and blue cheese is gorgonzola or roquefort. In India now we have some amazingly unique flavours - Mango Hill in Pondicherry has curry-leaf flavoured cheese and cumin-flavoured one as well and there are ones that come with amazing herbs like the ones at Elefteria.
