What's New In Jaimalas? We Got You The Update!

BY The WMG Bride | 09 Mar, 2016 | 11450 views | 3 min read

So what's the big deal about Jaimalas? Well, like it or not your wedding photos are going to have that garland around you. Now you wouldn't want some shady wilted red roses right? Apart from just slapping on a few flowers, we are looking at a few trends we came across while snooping around. Hope you like 'em!

How to pick the right one for you:

  • If you have a rather busy outfit, pick a jaimala which is simpler and works off of a color in small quantities already in your outfit.
  • If your blouse is your main attraction, then you can opt for jaimalas with pearls / emerald strings around the top and flowers at the bottom so that your blouse is still visible and not blocked by the flowers.
  • Getting a jaimala is a coordinated but not matching hue is probably a good idea. Think blush pink, if your outfit is red, soft peach if your outfit is orange and so on.
  • Do remember however that strings and kundan pieces can make your jaimala pretty heavy, so if comfort is what you are after, stick to flowers.

Here are some new jaimalas we have seen around:

Thai Flowers

If you are looking for something VERY unique then get the Jaimalas worn by Nishka Lulla- made from Thai flowers in pink and white these are specially imported  and look gorgeous against any type of outfit.

Emerald Strings, Kundan Pieces

Jaimalas aren't limited to flowers! We love these ones worn by Vishal & Radhika with emerald strings, and Kundan pieces at the bottom along with rose petals. You can get these made at a good florist. We know FNP Weddings does make these at their flagship store.

Blush Pink Jaimalas

Gone are the reds and the whites - blush pink seems to be colour everyone's going for. Apart from the fact that it says classy and elegant, this one makes sure your pictures come out super pretty. And fact: It looks good on any lehenga, universally.

Upside Down Roses

Definitely inspired by the west, this one is as alternative as it can get. The fact that roses go upside down to make a new trend altogether - genius!

Delicate carnations & Leaves

We love how these beautiful pastel garlands are the perfect addition to a morning wedding. If your outfit is a pale colour- an off white, a gold or even a mint, these would look absolutely stunning!

Match it to your Lehenga

Pink lehenga = pink roses. When in doubt, go monotone and choose the same colour so it looks oh-so-coordinated.

Shells & Ribbon Roses

You will not believe it but can you beat this trend? Jaimalas in the design of Kaleere is fast catching up.

Offbeat flowers: Orchids and Baby Breaths

Okay, now go beyond roses if you are looking for something different. Orchids add glamour and baby breaths add a romantic element....so chic!

Colour-block Away

When one colour is boring or two, it's better to go for a colour palette you like and colour-block them. Like the one you see where flowers are paired with button mums - to add glam. Gradation Jaimalas are also something you can consider because they add so much colour.
