We tried to count the number of colors we spotted in this Mehendi and we think we pretty much got every single one in our pallette. Nupur also made quite and entry with an unusual alternate to the Phoolon ki chaadar and tons of fun signages. All of the drama was beautifully captured by Aviraj Saluja Photography.
Meet Nupur & Gautam
"Gautam and I are childhood best friends - we went to the same nursery school, junior school, high school and even did our undergrad at the same university. An intense but platonic best friendship of several years turned into more than friendship through the time we studied in USA leading to a dreamy proposal in Manhattan after we both started working in New York" adds Nupur.
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"We wanted the wedding to be non-traditional as far as possible without compromising on the ceremonial rituals. We wanted to simply have a blast and have the parties reflect our personal style and ideas of fun. It was also important to us that everyone who has been a part of our love story attends from different parts of the world. As we are huge Bollywood buffs, we also wanted the celebrations to be just a tad bit dramatic!" explains Nupur.
"I think we managed to achieve this all through the 4 days of celebrations thanks to all our families and friends who were just epic support systems. There were too many highlights throughout our high octane 'Love in New york' themed cocktail party on Valentines night and Sundowner Mehendi with karaoke, hookah and street food. My favourite magic moment was the time artists Hari Sukhmani wove magic with 'Madhaniyan' at our day boozy brunch type setting after the pheras at Taj Palace and our Bollywood version of the 'first dance' at the reception at Kingdom of dreams with the 60 dancers from the Shiamak Davar dance academy! It was magical" adds Nupur.
