Meet Sheeba & Nasar
Sheeba recounts: "Nasar & I met through my sister Shaina who was friends with him from before. He being an RJ was used to girls swooning over him, but when I gave him a curt "Hi" and continued to work on my laptop, it threw him off his game a bit. He was intrigued and destiny had something else in mind and after we hung out a couple of times, something clicked and there were fireworks. We became friends first and I was his emotional anchor for the longest time. And after a lot of back & forth, we decided to spend our lives with each other. Even though we are as different as chalk and cheese, we sort of complement & complete each other" explains Sheeba enthusiastically.
The Mehendi
The Sangeet
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"Royal. Classic. Elegant. Three words that would describe my vision for our wedding. Right from the venue, to the decor to the clothes we wore - I was sure I wanted everything to have an old world charm to it. Right from the vintage cars and elephants, to using pyros for my entrance, to having fireworks & a chandelier cake, everything had that special touch. So even the functions had themes that personified it. The Mehendi had a vintage floral French Riviera theme and the Sangeet brought alive the 1920's through the Great Gatsby theme"
"I'm a control freak and I was micromanaging everything! So much so that even while I was getting ready for functions, I was coordinating with my friends , my family, the decor guy, the hotel staff, everyone! A true Bridezilla. Lol! As a bride, I always saw myself getting married like a princess - making a grand entry, wearing classic jewellery and clothes, wanting to look extremely royal and graceful! My style I would say was exactly that. So, while for the mehendi, I wore an understated yet stylish mint anarkali gown with floral jewellery, for the Sangeet, I glammed it up in true Gatsby style - wearing the Gatsby headband and an indo-western gown with an extremely long train (which had to be tied up later coz I was dancing so much)," says Sheeba.
For the for the wedding, I wore a very heavy traditional red lehenga with two dupattas in shades of orange. I topped it with a heavy mathapatti, nath, heavy jewellery, kadas and what not - basically everything that screamed 'here comes a princess' . I wanted my wedding to look timeless! I wanted it to be an event which our future generations would identify with; I wanted it to have a feel that anyone could identify with, and touchwood, It was just perfect," adds Sheeba.
