This bride wore some seriously inspirational jewellery for her wedding, and when you see it, you'll agree! From her floral Nath on her mehendi to her oversized Nath and layered maangtikka on her wedding day, Avni made for a very pretty bride! This Lucknow wedding followed by a Delhi Reception was vibrant, and of course, the photography by Shutterdown - Lakshya Chawla made it stand out even more!
Meet Avni and Kunal
We met almost 12 years back! He was my brothers closest friends hence we would chill together quite a bit. In sometime we became best of friends and eventually started dating! We dated for close to 10 years and got married last year!
Mehendi
We opted for a bubblegum colour theme, lots of bubbles, confetti, cute favours- chikan pouches, pocket squares for men, lots of old school candies, fresh flower maangtikkas.
Haldi
Cocktail
For the Cocktail, we opted for a wild garden theme with lots of fairy lights.
Flew in a hip hop and Punjabi DJ from Delhi for the warm up party. The after party had FILM from Delhi, a techno DJ.
Wedding
Our wedding was a super traditional one. The wedding decor was done with lots of red roses and mogra and shamadaans. The bridal entry was special. Tiny bells were rung to welcome me, and young monks were chanting throughout the wedding.
Reception
From the Bride:
Both us wanted an intimate destination wedding but somehow it didn’t work out and we had a big fat wedding in Lucknow and Delhi. It was almost a week long wedding with 8 functions! I always wanted a super personalised traditional wedding with lots of detailing. I literally made presentations for each function.
Wedding invites: I worked super closely with my wedding invite designer, it was a super simple wedding card with fresh baby’s breath. With the card we distributed fresh sunflower bouquets, a personalised balloon and a box of macarons.
Vendor Reviews
Photography: Shutterdown
The whole team, Malvika and Ankit, they were the coolest. So extremely easy to work with. They’ll understand what kind of people you actually are and would deal with you accordingly. They know their job perfectly and are super fun! Shutterdown is hand down the BEST.
Makeup Artist: Guru makeup artist
He’s super professional, he knows his job extremely well. Promise you, you don’t need any trials with him. He’ll make sure the environment in the room is super calm.he actually knew what was needed for my face and what wasn’t. I believe make up should enhance your natural features and beauty and not transform you into someone else.
Trousseau Packaging: Pataaree
The trousseau was packed by Pataaree work and their work was really very good.
Wedding Planning & Decor: The Artisan Group- Delhi
HORRIBLE is the least I could say. I’m extremely passionate about decor and always always dreamt of having the best decor at my wedding, I literally would sit for hours on the Internet and do my research to make extremely details presentations on decor for my decor team. Detailed to the extent of explaining to them how I was the flower arrangements on small tables to look or what kind of upholstery I’d want. Basically I did half of their job and they screwed it all to another level. It was nothing like I had discussed with them. Just a suggestion for all the brides to be- stalk the hell out of your vendors and get their reviews thoroughly before hiring them. Also, incase you have a 2k people wedding hiring at least 2 teams and divide the work.
