From The Bride:
"I was sure I wanted the big fat indian wedding with a lot of crazy dancing right from the cocktail to the reception. Since I had a good amount of time between my engagement and wedding, I reviewed a lot of caterers, decorators etc (A big thanks to WedMeGood). Being a perfectionist by nature, it was of utmost importance that everything was on point. I had a certain look in mind for each function and chose my clothes and jewellery keeping that in mind. I also went in for two different make up artist to ensure my look was different and not repetitive (A glamorous one for cocktail & reception and a more subtle natural look for wedding & mehendi). For the cocktail I was keen on a very english look, a Manish Malhotra gown, with a mess updo did the trick for me. The mehendi was a day affair, I chose an Anushree Reddy pink and yellow lehenga, minimal makeup, braided plait with beautiful Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas jewellery from Jaipur. For the wedding I was certain I wanted a Sabyasachi Red lehenga and went to all lengths to find the perfect one, while in search for my wedding lehenga I spotted a beautiful gold & peach lehenga, I was in love with it almost instantly," explains Arushi.
"I have some good advice for brides today from my experience. Firstly, if you have a Mehendi function and you really want to enjoy it, then get a part of your mehendi done before. Sitting for 5 hours while all your friends and family drink eat and make merry feels horrible. Secondly, if you are planning on having a series of functions I would advise that you go in for more than one makeup artist as each one has a different way of styling and this way you’d be sure of getting different looks (of course get a makeup trial done in advance before booking). Thirdly, getting a venue in Delhi during the peak wedding months is very difficult, so the day your functions dates are decided start booking venues. And oh, I almost forgot. A Big thank you to Morvi who made me look no less than a superstar, one word of advise to all the future brides - invest in a good photographer, its the only memory that will last a lifetime" adds Arushi.
