We've heard of 'Under The Tuscan Sun', but this one was literally in the Tuscan rain! Yup, Chhavi and Krish's wedding was blessed by the rain Gods, but even despite that it was a beautiful one. The couple's attention to detail was evident with the pretty decor and meaningful themes, blending North and South Indian cultures with an Italian twist. From a Pizza and Prosecco Welcome Party to an Italian Aperitivo Wedding Lunch- their wedding brought together the best of both worlds. Of course, the picturesque setting with a historic villa overlooking the vineyards is something we just can't get over!
Meet Chhavi and Krish
Krishna and I met for the first time on June 21, 2022 at a bar in New York. While I was 10 mins early, as always, he was 10 mins late (as always!) but the moment he entered the bar, he gave me a look with a glint in his eye and I just smiled. On our first date, we realized how much we love being tech and finance nerds, and had so many common interests - wine, music, travel, fashion and the list was unending. But at the same time, we were also very different - I was more extroverted and communicative while he was a man of few words but extraordinary gestures. We started dating when he surprised me at Above and Beyond Concert in Brooklyn Mirage and confessed his love for me. New York has a special place in our hearts as thats where we fell in love and spent most of our time exploring different cocktail bars, rooftops and restaurants - the quintessential NYC vibe.

From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on October 18, 2023. Krish and I met and live in Greenwich Village, New York - while I am from Delhi, India, he is from USA and has roots from South India. Hence, our wedding was a multicultural affair with not just the union of two hearts but also a celebration of diverse traditions and aesthetics. After having our civil wedding ceremony in Central Park - New York (symbolic of where we fell in love) on June 21, 2023, we chose Italy as our destination for traditional Indian wedding ceremony because of our combined love for culture, food and wine and of course the stunning Tuscan backdrop! In addition, we wanted our guests traveling from USA, UK and India to not just be part of a ceremony but also have a distinctive and extraordinary experience during their visit. Choosing Italy was a nod to our guests symbolizing a unique midpoint which many of them hadn't visited before. So, we opted an elegant and historic Italian villa with rustic architecture. Close to Florence, it is situated on a hill in the Chianti region overlooking the Tuscan wineries and undulating countryside.
About The Wedding
The couple put in meticulous attention to detail in every event which looked picturesque despite the continuous Italian thunderstorm on the day of their wedding. Since this was an intimate celebration with 60 of their closest family and friends, they wanted to be thoughtful about including local aesthetics, meaningful traditions and carefully curating every detail from their Tuscany themed invitations with C&K logo to a signature bar menu with cocktails based on their love story and travel escapades and a Prosecco Lambretta serving drinks on tap! Every event had something special - the first event was the poolside Haldi Ceremony which was a Pizza and Prosecco Welcome Party where guests dressed in “Shades of Sunshine”. Everybody danced their hearts out on the eve of Sangeet Soirée and loved the sumptuous Indian feast (party favorite was Pav Bhaji and Dal Makhani with Italian butter).
The wedding was a dreamy affair next morning with North Indian baraat and South Indian ceremony followed by Italian Aperitivo with Limoncello and Aperol Spritz, sit-down lunch and a buffet dessert bar. There were toasts that had everyone laughing and tearing up at the same time. They had an exquisite floral wedding mandap accompanied with live background music from violin and cello players. There was a combination of 14 different types of flowers from lilac and white hydrangeas, blush orchids, toffee and majolica spray roses and more - many of those were imported from Holland. Since it rained continuously on the day of the wedding, everything was Plan B - yet everything looked spectacular with the backdrop of the Tuscan landscape, and fresh smell of rain blessed from the heaven, surrounded by the love and enthusiasm of all their friends and family.
About The WedMeGood App
I am a fashion enthusiast and love to dress up so I am always updated with new trends but as an Indian living abroad, WMG was very helpful in keeping me updated with latest Indian wedding trends from decor to clothing and jewelry. Further, WMG also featured many Indian weddings which have happened abroad so it was quite informative on that front as well.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Villa Palagina, Tuscany
We had only seen Villa Palagina in Chianti, Tuscany - Italy in pictures but as soon as we visited it, we knew that this is the place where we want to tie the knot. They pride themselves in "Coming from the past and unspoilt by the future; sitting halfway between the hills of Tuscany and the Italian skies." - and this is actually evident from their hospitality and historic look. The villa stood amidst the Tuscan hills overlooking the Chianti wineries, which was one of the most spectacular venues there. Further, they helped us with the wedding favors thoughtfully packaged by people with disabilities, adding a meaningful and socially responsible dimension to our wedding, which both Krishna and I truly believe in.
