Ivory and gold as an Indian wedding trend started with Alia Bhatt, but even nearly 2 years after her wedding, still continues to be loved and picked by brides as shown by Parineeti Chopra. Real Bride Shivani also had her wedding celebrating this serene combination of hues last year, and her wedding in Kumarakom was a beautiful affair. Dressed in an ivory and gold Arpita Mehta lehenga, we loved how fuss-free she looked as a bride.. definitely not minimal, but very subtle and lovely. The photos reflect the same, definitely planting a big smile across our faces! Scroll down and get inspired!

"We had an arranged marriage via mothers", the bride tells us.
Wedding
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on December 9, 2022. Well we were always sure of wanting a destination wedding. I always dreamt of having a royal Udaipur wedding whereas my husband always wanted a wedding in a non commercial place. We had almost finalised Aurika Udaipur for our wedding when he suggested we go to Kumarakom once before we sign the contract. Once there all of us were swept away by the place, the greenery, back waters and the entire experience at Kumarakom Lake Resort. I was sure of using nature as our element so we made sure we keep our decor to a minimum and use only white natural flowers since there was so much greenery and use backwaters as our backdrop.
I was sure of what theme I had for all the functions so we didn’t end up being very confused when we started shopping. I always knew I wanted an Ivory themed wedding. It was a bit difficult to find a lot of options in Ivory since only reds and pastels were in. I went to almost all the designers and designer stores to find that perfect ivory outfit. Luckily designer Arpita Mehta’s wedding pictures had just come out and I went to her store. Within in 2 days I finalised my wedding outfit and mom’s. Honestly since I had a vision and theme in mind shopping for all of my outfits was a cakewalk.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Kumarakom Lake Resort
We had an absolutely amazing experience at kumarakom lake resort. The service, staff and the over all hospitality lived upto it’s name. I would surely recommend this hotel not only for a wedding but also for its food and stay.
Makeup Artist: Sidra
Sidra my makeup artist is the best I could have had. Since I am a makeup artist myself I had a particular vision for all my events when discussed with her we instantly had an artistic understanding and my looks were on point.
Wedding Planning: Unicorn Planners
We hired a local event planning company named Unicorn Planners who are Kochi based. We knew Kerala is going to be a little challenging mainly coz of the language barrier so hiring a local event team was the best decision we made. From the start they were polite, cordial and very understanding. They made an extra effort to understand our rituals, they brought our vision to life more than we imagined.
Photography: The Wedding Files
Photographer was one of the first artists we hired. Wedding files was the first one I had gotten in touch with. They understood our requirements and gave us a lot of inputs in terms of what would work aesthetically. They personally got in touch with varun and me to understand each of us individually also did a proper research on our property which eventually came out beautifully well.
