Lilac is such an underrated shade for brides, and we love it when a bride experiments with the shade! Real Bride Shalki chose a pretty lilac lehenga for her wedding, and paired it with a customised veil, which was dedicated to her grandmother. Shalki and Roushan's Delhi wedding was full of fun and heartfelt smiles, captured beautifully on the lens of the talented team at Happyframes . Scroll down if you too love offbeat brides or are planning to be one!

"We graduated from the same college and then got the first job together. (Same company, same city). Have been best friends ever since", the bride tells us.

From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on February 22, 2023. Revering our own unique flair, Roushan and I passionately weaved the vision for our wedding, pouring our hearts into each detail. We tossed aside mainstream trends to ensure our celebration emanated warmth, love, joy and happiness with only our near and dear ones in presence, in a pleasant and glowing February daylight. My obsession with the colour lilac was evident not only in my lehenga, but also in the decor. The primary colour was white, but accents of lilac added a captivating and romantic touch to our day.
They say soak in every moment of your wedding day, enjoy to the fullest and oh boy, we did.
With fresh white and lavender flowers, lavender aisle, a pool side vibrant mandap, a live performing artist, flower cones, brass bells for pheras - all set in an alluring contemporary garden landscape made our wedding dream come beautifully true.
The cocktail was all about glitter and glamour. The spirits were high and everybody danced by.
Haldi was a riot of colours, reminiscent of a carnival with a candy floss booth, a beer cart, swings for kids and favour carts with bangles, duppattas and jhumkas. The guests were dressed in poppy pink and electric blue (why always yellow?) whereas Roushan and I matched our outfits in yellow. The only memo was to have a whale of a time.
Our heartfelt thanks to our planners who made everything and everyone harmoniously work together - making the day the most beautiful and cherished day of our lives.
A special thanks to Happy Frames who wonderfully captured and etched all our precious memories, forever in our hearts.
It was a profoundly personal, sophisticated, tasteful and distinctively elegant celebration that shimmered with warmth, gratitude, love and joy.
For the wedding, I wore a Lilac organza lehenga with heavy pearl and cut daana hand embroidery from Asiana Couture, Chandni Chowk with a customised lilac veil with an engraving of “With Daadi’s Blessings”. For Cocktail, it was close family designer who designed and manufactured it. For Haldi: custom yellow plisse saree from a Mumbai based designer called “Label Prerna Mehra”

We are the happiest with them. As they say you take only memories, they helped us achieve that in all the amazing ways. Two of our close friends have already booked them for their wedding looking at our wedding pictures. We are in total awe of them. The team is great and thoroughly professional.
Venue: The Palms Town and Country Club, Gurgaon
The wedding took place at The Palms Town and Country Club, Gurgaon. A nice poolside open garden area, perfectly matched our day wedding dreams. The food and hospitality were the icing on the cake.
Makeup Artists:
Samaira Sandhu (Wedding): I went ahead with Samaira Sandhu for the wedding ceremony. She is an incredible artist who helped me achieve my dream-y wedding look. The makeup was super natural and it felt like my own skin. Loved her professionalism and aura. I still cannot get over looking at my own wedding pictures. She truly is a magician.
Puja Taluja (Haldi): For haldi, it was Puja Taluja. Been highly recommending her to all, loved my haldi make up as well.
Wedding Planning: Wedding Darzi
They helped take the load off our shoulders to a great extent with incredible management skills and creativity, we were a match made in heaven.
Decor: Wedding (Darsh Weddings by Aakash)
Lilac and white were our primary colours with dress code being pastels for all with our very own logo on neon and a mirror based welcome board, bells for guests during our Pheras and nice semicircular stage with fresh flowers. The memo for Haldi was as colour as a carnival with guests dressed in electric blue and poppy pink. For the cocktail: it was all shine and glitter with guests dressed in tux and gown.
