With platforms like Instagram, Pinterest and more filled with breathtaking wedding inspo images, it is easy to get carried away and want a picturesque nuptial ceremony. But then a global pandemic did change the game altogether and now, many people are opting for simple intimate ones instead. This couple wanted a little bit of both. And they got just that.
The bride, being a fashion designer, has an eye for details and all things pretty. So naturally, she pulled off the wedding of her dreams and had her fairytale big day, just the way she wanted. And guess what? They managed to pull of this 2-day wedding in a heritage palace in the exact budget they had decided! So this goes on to proof that if you have the right ideas and find the right vendors, you CAN host a beautiful destination wedding in a comfortable budget!
Meet Shruti & Ashish
"Ashish and I met in Mumbai through a common friend. Although that was a short meeting, it got stuck with us and we decided to exchange numbers. After just few weeks, Ashish and I decided to meet again and knew immediately that this is it! We dated for 6 years, completely long distance with meeting not more than 4-5 days in a year (he is a sea-farer and I am a fashion designer) before Ashish proposed to me last year. Our families hadn't met ever till the day of our engagement. Everything happened virtually, but it was all perfect," shares the bride.
Mehendi
"Mehendi was all about greens and pinks, mirror work, Indo-western vibe and Rajasthani folk singers and dancers welcoming the guests to help everyone unwind after the long journey of coming to Panchkula from Jammu, Delhi, Dehradun etc." reveals Shruti.
Haldi
"Haldi was a simple traditional function as it has high importance for both our cultures with the Pooja. For this function, the décor was Indie takhts and marigold flowers with aqua and yellow drapes and gajras for haldi favors. Our outfits were also very simple as I wanted the haldi to shine brighter! Hence, I wore a simple yellow saree with gajras while Ashish wore a matching kurta-pyjama. It ended up with us all painted in yellow, dancing to dhol and enjoying chaat," she recollects happily.
Ring Ceremony
"The theme for our ring ceremony was #BohoGlam, something I always knew I wanted. I think this was one function I had an exact idea about and I am fortunate it all came true better than my imagination. From my outfit (a lilac lehenga with full sleeves embellished blouse) to the boho rustic dried flower décor, pool side fairy lighting, a full glam movie-like entrance while dancing with the crowd - it was perfection," she divulges.
Wedding
"Since our venue was so regal, we ended up deciding the same theme for the wedding too. I wore an olive lehenga with wedding motifs and paired it with an embroidered velvet shawl for the royal look and Ashish wore an off-white tonal embroidered sherwani. The décor was kept light, breezy and green so that it doesn't take away the beauty of the Mahal in anyway, and rather complement it. For the pheras, we decided to do it by the pool. And our decorator worked so hard and great to bring my dream mandate to life," gushes Shruti about her big day.
From The Bride:
Our wedding date was 20.02.2022. While we always discussed that we wanted a mountain wedding, due to low time in hand and a very in-demand wedding date, we had to leave that idea behind and find any available venue for a destination wedding. Fortunately, we found a great place, WelcomHeritage - Ramghar in Panchkula. And from there on, the entire planning started! We knew just one thing before we started planning everything, "We want to enjoy our wedding as much as our guests do". We had kept our budget as tight as possible, the entire wedding with all décor, photography, stay for 150 guests, venue and food for 2 days was managed in the range we had decided. We kept different themes for all our functions. I love details. So, we worked with PPTs and excel sheets for everything!
About WedMeGood:
For searching for venues and vendors, this was my go-to app. And I don't know what I would have done without the check list by you guys. It helped so much when I had no clue even on how to get started.
Vendor Reviews
Venue: The Welcome Heritage Ramghar, Panchkula
Beautiful Palace for an intimate wedding with small gathering. The manager, Akshat is really helpful and helped us manage and plan everything very smoothly.
Bridal & Guest Makeup: Rahul's Makeup
Rahul Razani knows what he is doing, so you can trust him with the looks. The team also did a good job with the guest makeups and were very punctual. They are great with makeup, but you might need someone else to help with saree draping.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! They work like family and not as vendors. They are so hardworking, involved and passionate that no matter what time it is or how tired everyone is, they won't stop till they get the perfect shots! We had all our functions and pre-wedding captured by them; and they are already pre-booked for all our future family weddings too!
Décor: Ideas Unlimited
I have no words to describe how glad I am that I picked Rishi for my wedding décor. I believe no one could have brought my imagination to life better than he did. He and his team are great with detailing and everything went so smooth and on time that we still don't know how he managed it all. Totally recommended!
Bridal Mehendi: Krishna Mehendi Art
He was very punctual and good with his work.
