We love brides who plan everything down at their wedding to the last detail, and Anhad was one such bride, who really outdid herself! Her wedding had so many interesting new ideas and inspiration, and the best part is, that the couple put together the whole wedding themselves- yep, to an extent that even the bride's outfit and kaleeeras were made at home! So here are some amazing ideas and things we'd like to steal from this wedding in Delhi and over to Anhad as she explains each one of them!
The Bride gave banarsi dupattas as mehendi favours for the international bridesmaids
Along with Ikat blouses with linen sarees for Indian ones
I had a lot of my girlfriends from abroad - so I gave them all Banarasi dupattas to match with my outfit! And for my Indian girlfriends got them ikat blouses with linen sarees for them to be matching with me too!
The bride had edible coconut kaleere!
The most special detail were the coconut kaleeras - the original reason why they were worn- when brides were to travel to their new homes, incase they would feel hungry on the way, they would provide for her hunger.. I got my bua in Amritsar to make them by hand in an old traditional way!
The bride and groom's outfits which were designed by the bride herself!
The bride's jewellery, and those lust-worthy shoes!
The bride's self made mehendi outfit
My mehendi outfit was inspired by this Uzbeki antique headpiece worn by the traditional royals in Uzbekistan.. I designed the outfit around it using a traditional kheem khaab Banarasi fabric for the kurta and a silk ikat for the lehenga - combined with a mukaish dupatta to complete the look!
The Wedding Decor which was contemporary and stylish!
