They say, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!" We say, why make lemonade when you can do tequilla shots! ;)
Well, that's exactly what real bride Zubiya (Founder of Zubiya) did when life threw a snowball of obstacles her way-The biggest one being the pandemic, of course! While coping with increased stress-levels was already a challenge; planning a wedding amidst all this further added to her misery. But Priyanka, being a true sport, didn't let this deter her from having a dream wedding & found solace in doing what she loves to do the most- Hand-painting! Only this time it wasn't for her clients' footwears but her own mehendi lehenga. She designed her lehenga from scratch and while she was at it, she turned Covid-19 positive. Seems a lot to take? There's more to it.
Read in her own words, as she reveals her telltales of hand-painting her mehendi lehenga and the hurdles involved, "My mehendi lehenga was something I planned to do last year during lockdown due to Covid-19. I had enough time. PS. During those gloomy days, it acted as a saviour for me. It took me almost one year to finish the entire lehenga, which I started in JUNE 2020 and finished in MARCH 2021 with me being Covid-19 Positive (sept 2020), running my business alone, having a major right hand injury, the wedding planning and shopping during COVID, it was an experience I wouldn’t take any other way. It was relaxing, exhillirating, tiring, joyful, serene, calming and warm. In short, it was a mix of all the emotions. And the days that I have spent working on it, I will definitely cherish them forever. It will remind me of all the happy and also the most struggling moments of my life."
Isn't that tear-inducing & inspiring at the same time? Priyanka definitely deserves a pat on her back for pulling up a great act of bravery in times of adversity. But more than that, we can't stop lauding about her creativity. Right from the powder blue colour she picked as the canvas, to the kaleidoscopic showreel of colours she dipped it in with her art, we loved it all. Not to miss out on the shimmery outlining that enhanced the look of the outfit by multifold.
Seeing these beautiful pictures one can already tell that she also hand-painted a matching nehru jacket for her hubby. The duo totally took the colour-coordinated game a notch above. What acted as a cherry on top were the scenic mountain views and the colourful decorations.
