It's not very often that we come across a bride who knows exactly what she wants AND gets it herself! Yep, most of us have a vision for an outfit or look that we want, but this bride went ahead and made her vision a reality. Real Bride Harini (boredofbasik) who is a blogger wore a gorgeous muted lehenga on her engagement which was styled beautifully by her. Over to her as she tells us all about it!
The lehenga was with a gorgeous seafoam Banarasi skirt and a dusty pink blouse. It had a contrasting dupatta in maroon which was cinched at her waist with a fabric belt. Loving that dupatta drape btw!
Outfit Details
"The most important factor while picking my outfit was to wear something very unique and bespoke. Hence, I designed my own outfit from scratch! From picking the fabrics, trims/borders to the exact embroidery design on my blouse. In terms of the colour scheme I wanted a unique colour combination which was muted and dusty in tone. I started with this printed maroon dupatta first. Fell in love with it and built my outfit around it. Then came the skirt material which was a beautiful grey-blue silk banaras. Last, the dusty rose silk material for the blouse. Oh, that cute little belt was stitched from a border trim and it really pulled the entire look together. Special Thanks to @clotheslinebyprema for bringing out my dream design to reality. All the materials were sourced from @nallisilksarees (t.nagar)
Lace and trims from @finesselaces (Kasi arcade, Pondy bazaar)."
Jewellery
Her jewellery with the outfit was pretty offbeat and amazing too! She picked a beaded choker and studded mathapatti to finish the look.
"The choker was made of bespoke sea jade beads strung on an amethyst and white Swarovski engraved gold pendant. Single amethyst stone followed by a pearl for the earrings! A white crystal three layer head piece from @kushalsfashionjewellery to compliment the rest of my jewellery. Since I chose a stud style earring, I thought a dramatic head piece would add a little glam. Bangles were sourced from @threadjewels. All the way from Hyderabad, these are these beautiful customised silk thread bangles in the exact shades and designs matching to my outfit!"
Budget
It’s surprising how budget friendly an outfit can be when you pick and source your fabrics! Harini managed to put together this lehenga at a budget of INR 35,000, which is amazing!
Raw materials - INR 25,000 approx
Stitching - INR 10,000 approx
Maangtikka -INR 3500
Bangles - INR 2550
Jewellery- INR 3,00,000 in total
Makeup and Hair
Harini also had a gorgeous hairdo with baby's breath to go with the look, which made it ethereal!
