This Bride Designed Her Anand Karaj Lehenga From Scratch And It's Gorgeous!

There are brides who get their wedding lehenga designed to perfection, and then there are brides who put their creative fluids on the table and design it themselves to perfection! Amreen most definitely fell in the later category, and it was reason enough for us to pen down this feature!
Being the trendsetter bride that she was, Amreen steered clear of the usual reds & pinks and swore by an offbeat icy blue colour for her lehenga. Wearing her designer's hat, she took charge of every little and big detail that went into the making of her stunner bridal piece. And here's what the end result looked like!
Bridal Lehenga
Spilling the beans about her experience designing her own lehenga, Amreen shared: "I wanted to make the outfits myself. I wanted to make them from scratch and decide every little bead, moti, colour, fabric everything myself! I remember sitting at my Karigar’s and asking him for the 8th cup of chai at 3 AM, in freezing cold December!
We had very less time, say around 15 days to make outfits for all the functions for both me and my husband! And guess what? We did it! Wow ? I couldn’t believe how well the outfits turned out! Every thing was just how I wanted it."
Now that sounds promising! And tbh, we loved her lehenga to bits. Especially the veil that came with delicate thread-work on the edges.
Bridal Jewellery
For her bridal jewellery, Amreen again wanted something that wasn't limited to traditional wear. She wanted to keep it understated yet elegant, so she invested in a gorgeous choker set from Isharya. Unveiling more details, she shared in her own words, " I connected with Shruti from Isharya and she is the best! Shruti was very thoughtful to send me the jewellery in a weeks time from Mumbai to Chandigarh. I also chose my choker only 2 days before the wedding and she sent it in a day's time.
To my surprise, the choker arrived in a wonderful storage box with my name engraved on it and I totally loved the personal touches."
Well, it can't get any better! But we'd again urge all you to-be brides to scroll down and take some inspiration from Amreen & Nikhil's beautiful colour-coordinated outfits that the bride designed all by herself!
From The Bride
We always and always wanted an intimate wedding. There were only a total of 36 people at the wedding, including our closest friends and family. We decided to keep a sofa for ‘us’ , the couple, because we wanted to roam around and dance around with our friends. There was no formality, no ‘cliched’ posing. We were aiming to just enjoy our day with our family. Our photographer was told in advance that he will not get “newly wed” poses from us :D. And he was happy to give us beautiful pictures no matter :)
For each events outfits were made by me under my brand Nameh. I always wanted to start my own brand and with our wedding outfits I was able to do so.
