Fairytales may be done to death, but you have to admit your inner princess gives a little squeal when something this pretty lands in your inbox. This shoot is full of inspiration - from clothes to decor to makeup. Yes, it's designers Shyamal Bhumika latest lookbook. The designer duo are back with a stunning new collection inspired by fairy tales titled Enchanted Forest.
Ok so this collection has simple, gorgeous gowns, understated, stunning lehengas, beautiful sherwanis and even indo-western trends that we are dying to try. Of course, when you look at it, it takes inspiration from the magical forests that you see in fairy tales and everything surrounds the theme. From the use of sheer fabrics to intricate whimsical embroidery patterns, to exceptional hemlines and voluminous to floor-sweeping silhouettes. Like a grown-up version of your favourite tale...in Indian outfits!!
As far as the outfits are concerned, it is the designer's strength that is most highlighted here - their love for heritage fabrics, interesting cuts and their nice embroideries like zardozi, pita, aari and dabka. That said, they also play with crystals, beads, satiny threads, sequins, coloured metallic yarn. And what's so cool about them? There are these beautiful and unusual patterns of flowers, creepers, birds, butterflies and artsy leaves - so chic!
Our favourite you ask? The pretty sari paired with dolman-sleeved blouses with bow-tied backs. We heard that to make one look extra princessy, the designers have added puffed, fluttery sleeves inspired from 17th century fashion. From the sangeet to the cocktails to the wedding, there's so much to choose from. And you know their lookbook is all kinds of yummy with a fab fern and flower backdrop - so deep, dark and magical. We're dying to see that at a wedding now. Sigh!
