Whenever you're in serious need of some inspo (particularly when it comes to wedding planning) most girls know, Pinterest is the way to go. But lately, there is just so much going on that we are losing track of what's new, what's trending and what's the latest in decor and style - so much riff-raff to go over. So we decided to take a reality check and get you back on track right in time to make your own inspiration board - here are the top trends on Pinterest that you need to take note of. Happy weddings ahoy!
Soft Metallics

We're talking loads and loads of gorgeous shimmer and sleek metallic shades that are slowly taking over our timelines. Try rose gold, matte gold or subtle silver to get your groove on. Seriously though, this is one of those trends we're totally head over heels for. Add lanterns, smoke screens and soft metallic drapes to punch it in.
Ferns and more Ferns

Another absolutely gorgeous trend that is woody, green, full of mother nature and something we don't mind seeing more of. Ferns are fast replacing flowers and the green backdrops are just making our outfits pop. So are these sweet signages - super cute!
Vintage Lighting

Lighting is so crucial because it sets the atmosphere and really brings together the decor and just about everything. But somehow lights have kinda moved on from multiple fairy lights to interesting retro fixings - the ones that can get featured in movies like 1940 a love story. Take a look!

This trend is particularly pretty because it plays on all those vintage and rustic elements you may not have thought could be a part of your wedding... until now. ❤ And plus, they're not too loud!

And the best part? There are literally a hundred innovative ways to play with this trend! Hang flowers from trees and drape floral garlands and exquisite lighting everywhere!
Contemporary Themes

Old ideas are coming back and it's about recreating new themes out of them. We loved how Devika Narain worked on the Guava garden in her Udaipur wedding - a simple theme but modernised to suit today's brides. So it's charpoys and chai glasses, tied up with vintage roses! Yes, we love the fact they are as different as chalk and cheese and they came together beautifully!
Minimal Mandaps

All those over-the-top mandap ideas are gone and in it's place is this rustic setting. Simple and sweet mandaps are so so in this year!
Indian Ceramics

This obsession has to, in all sincerity must be credited to Good Earth and the art of Indian ceramics. We love how Indian cutlery and pottery is being used so liberally across our weddings. Case in point: Pickle jars and Jaipur Blue Pottery!
Wallpapering circa 1920s

We've seen all kinds of backdrops but thanks to Sabyasachi, we fell in love with vintage wallpapering that is going to be 2016's biggest decor trend. Go with very Indian or vintage prints nad you'll never go wrong again.
Sheer everything

Sheer curtains are ruling the roost these days. At weddings and receptions and even beach weddings. Just light them up if you are bored but they'll make any event look delicate and romantic!

Mogra is seeing a huge revival - so are Indian flowers like bougainvilla or mogra, Lotus buds are another big trend and we are in love!
