Goa, Udaipur and Jaipur are pretty much done and dusted as far as destination weddings in India are concerned. But in 2016, we saw couples get a little more adventurous and try out some lesser known or offbeat destination wedding locations! So here are some of the ones we loved!
Naukuchiatal
WMG Real Couple Jonathan & Subhashree got married at this hilly place, which we have to be honest, we had never heard of before, but it is super stunning! With the greenery and the forest theme, what's not to love?
Kumarakom
Neha and Kapil's gorgeous wedding by the backwaters made us realise how amazing Kumarakom is for a destination wedding! Relaxed and calm just like the backwater, this is one ideal location!
Khimsar
Oh, if you want Rajasthan, but you want a fairly unknown destination, then how about Khimsar? WMG had featured Aakritti & Manav's stunning wedding in Khimsar, and fell in love with the place! Check it out for yourself!
Mussoorie
We featured quite a few Real Weddings from Mussoorie in 2016, and it is quite an awesome place to plan a laidback wedding in the hills without the chilly cold! Check out Neha and Arjun's Mussoorie wedding for some inspiration!
Rishikesh
WMG recently featured Chandni and Akshar's intimate but pretty wedding on a cliff in Rishikesh, and it took our breath away! Imagine getting married with a view like THAT!
Alibaug
We featured Ishita and Nikunj's gorgeous Alibaug wedding with a rustic theme recently, and fell in love with everything about it! Alibaug is a pretty place to consider for a destination wedding especially for the Mumbai crowd!
Neemrana
Neemrana is a weekend getaway and a pretty pre wedding shoot spot for Delhi peeps, but it is gorgeous for a destination wedding too! WMG featured Chandini and Kanishk's glam wedding in Neemrana which was so colourful and kitschy!
Ooty
Sowmi and Shiv's Ooty wedding atop a hill was so pretty and perfect! With a view to kill and so much lush greenery, it's amazing for a hilly destination wedding!
Jaisalmer
While Jaipur and Udaipur have become very common (but stunning nonetheless!) for Rajasthan destination weddings, Jaisalmer is still catching up, and it totally should! WMG featured Karishma and Ashwin's glamourous desert wedding in Jaisalmer which was so inspiring in every way!
Shimla
Punya and Roshan's Shimla wedding in the lap of the nature was very elegant and picturesque! Shimla so far of course has seen a lot of local weddings as well as tourism, but it is now catching up as a destination wedding location as well!
Silvassa
Very unheard of and very pretty! WMG featured Shivani and Tushar's Engagement in Silvassa in 2016, and it is another place to consider for a laidback destination wedding!
