Everything about this Essex wedding is stunning - right from the Sabyasachi lehengas to the interesting way the bride and groom chose to showcase their personalities through decor. From playing fun games at their wedding ( like cricket, really!!!) to adding their dating memories in the form of polaroids at the Reception tables, this wedding was as fun as it can get. Harminder is Punjabi Sikh & Geena is a Gujarati Hindu so they had two weddings and oh, these two also own a wedding company, The Natural Mandap Co as you can tell by the stunning mandap at their own wedding. Abigail Steed Photography captured the essence of this union beautifully.
Meet Harminder & Geena
"We met through a friend at a party & since that day not one day has gone without us speaking (unless I'm giving him the silent treatment!). We got engaged near Mount Etna (active volcano!) in Sicily! We live in the UK and got married in the UK followed by an incredible honeymoon in Thailand," explains Geena of their amazing relationship.
The Hindu Wedding
The Sikh Wedding
"Our Sikh Wedding was at a Gurdwara in Hayes and our theme was Royal Regal. I wore a royal blue Sabyasachi lehenga and had Harminder compliment me in an ombre hot pink sherwani by Manish Nagdeo. My gold veil & the hot pink rumals were made by my father while Harminder's mother made all the buttonholes for the Toor family.
We had the Hindu wedding too with a theme called Floral Boheme. I wore a striking red Sabyasachi lehega and Harminder's cream sherwani was from a local store in Southall. The GH wedding sign, the pink material that ties us together was sewn by my father and the yellow bird latkans were sourced by myself. The mandap was designed by myself and set up by my company's team, The Natural Mandap Co," says Geena.
"We also had a theme for our Reception and it was called Blush Romantic. I wore a cream & blue jacket lehenga by SVA & Harminder wore a three piece suit in a baby blue colour. At the Reception, you'll be surprised to know that the table decor and numbers were made by me :P. I choreographed our first dance to 'Sure Thing - Miguel' (our song since when we got together) & also our flash mob dance to 'Kala Chashma - Baar Baar Dekho'. Our photographer is Abigail Steed from UK & we absolutely love her documentary style shooting of our wedding. It's like watching our wedding from a guest's perspective!" adds Geena.
