The bride had one dream - to look like a Hindu, Muslim and Christian bride all in one go - and we can definitely say she looked like a different person each day. Love the green banarasi lehenga on the wedding day, shot by Shutterdown - Lakshya Chawla .

"We were at school together since kindergarten but lost touch and reconnected years later on a trip to Manali and discovered a common love for classic rock and the mountains," says Asmita with a grin.

From The Bride: The vision for the wedding!
"I am quite the perfectionist and like most brides out there, did not want to compromise on any aspect of the wedding. I wanted a classic, simple and elegant look. After initial visits to designers and the quintessential "wedding stores", I panicked because the bling on display was just not in line with what I wanted or my personal style. My trousseau was built during the course of a long and painful year during which I also figured out what it was that I wanted and how to turn my vision into reality. The best part was that I found all the right vendors who were just perfectly aligned with my vision and mad obsession" she adds.
The Bridal Outfits:
"As for the outfits, I was clear that I wanted outfits which had a timeless and classic Indian-ness yet are fresh and vibrant. I also realised I want to dress up as a Hindu, Muslim and a Christian bride for the three functions- the Wedding, Sangeet and the Cocktail party. For the wedding, My mother got the real deal- a traditional real Zari Banarasi straight from Varanasi. This was pepped up by a delicately embroidered dupatta by my incredible designer. The theme for the wedding was "genda phool" so the wedding card (designed by my sister-in-law), the decor and my outfits were designed accordingly. The sangeet theme was "qawwali" which came to life beautifully by our outfits, the decor and also the dance performances. For the cocktail at Olive, I wanted a western spin on classic elegance and we went with an all black theme and I wore a white and silver gown. Shubhangini, my designer was a life saver! I stumbled upon her work on facebook and it was instant love. Her embroidery, colours and overall aesthetic was so in line with my vision. She was a thorough professional all through the many months I was a painful client! I am very grateful for that. As far as the groom's outfits were concerned, our local neighbourhood tailor stitched the perfect three piece and bandhgala and the wedding look was designed by Diwan Saheb" she explains.
"Beautiful lawn and convenient hall for the smaller functions - Olive was always my dream venue for the cocktail party. Beautifully lit by candles and fairy lights, it was just what I wanted! And the food and drinks were brilliant as usual. After many painful meetings with multiple decorators we were glad to find the right decorator for us - Maharaja Decorators. They understood exactly what our vision was. They did not want us to interfere too much or micro manage and after the sangeet, I was able to trust them and let go. My favourite was the photographer, Lakshya Chawla. He is so warm and understanding- and we were surprised to discover how professional and focused he is. Apart from being really good at what he does, his people skills are truly commendable," she adds.
