“I think it was my nose ring. As the sister of the bride, you are expected to be dressed up like the bride which I don’t agree as it’s her day but I yet wanted to look different. So I wore my mom’s heirloom nose ring which was small and not bridal looking. But it gave my outfit a nice twist without making it look OTT!”

I bought these really modern jhoomers and maang tikkas from Outhouse. Unlike Kundan pieces you usually find, these were super chic, edgy and modern. It went with my cape outfit perfectly.

“It’s not an accessory per say but it for sure made heads turn! My hairstyle and makeup. My sister’s wedding was one wedding where I could splurge on good stylists so I did just that! I got an elaborate set of waterfall braids on her mehendi with flowers and a stunning Hollywood – style loose curls hairdo for the cocktail. For the wedding I went with the classic bun but she did a braided one with bougainvillea flowers in it which went amazingly well with my baby pink lehenga and almost everyone asked about it. And she did a half rose bun with the rest in loose curls for the reception. I can totally vouch that more than jewellery or even my outfits, it was my entire makeup and hairdo which made all the difference!”

“All my hand accessories. I dint want big bridal sets when I wasn’t the bride. I wanted simple yet wanted to do something different. So, I got this modern, edgy hathphool and a cocktail ring from Outhouse and a pair of stunning bracelets – instead of bangles – from TBZ. I loved that the outfits were traditional but with the right mix of modern jewellery I was able to kick it up in the fun department”

“I was always fascinated by my mom’s jewellery as a kid. All her haars, earrings and bangles. I knew that I couldn’t wear those at my own wedding since you have to wear something new so I decided to wear it at my didi’s wedding. All the designs were old but they were so chic! Pearl chokers, rani haars, jadau earings. Every single piece was stunning and elevated my look instantly! I was so glad I took that decision and mom couldn’t be happier!”
