In a world filled with extremes - finding the bridal outfit of your dreams can be a bit of a nightmare. Either there's designer wear that costs a bomb or our next-door tailor bhaiyya doing the honours which means that while costs work out, we end up compromising on finish. Where's the middle ground, we asked. And we found it - with a few brides at WMG opting for small-time designers and making sure they looked like a million bucks on their big day.

Sagarika says "Since I am very rigid about who I will wear on my Cocktail, Mehendi and Shaadi functions, I went engagement outfit shopping with a very open mind to multi-designer showrooms like Ensemble and Ogaan to look at new talent. I absolutely fell in love with Malasa Trousseau Wear ‘s collection and picked up my lehenga which I found to be a perfect combination of comfort, class and elegance. Since my simple lehenga wasn’t too heavy with embroideries and such, I went for bolder makeup,". Label: Vasansi JaipurPics via Morvi Images Photography
Aakriti says "As for my outfits, my mother and I went all over Delhi to find the perfect outfit that spoke to me. From Vogue wedding week to Shahpur Jat to Emporio. You name it, we saw it. Nothing stood out. We decided to head to Jaipur and there we found my wedding outfit at Vasansi Jaipur . All I wanted was a double veil and with my mom's help, they created a beautiful lehenga that went with the Mughal theme at my wedding. The material of the lehenga was interwoven with two colours –orange and shocking pink, giving it an orange hue in certain lights while being a deep pink colour. So my wedding outfit was by Vasansi Jaipur ; Designing and altering by Amita Ghai Dev" Label: Gazal GuptaPics via Mahima Bhatia Photography
Kirti says, "I chose a Gazal Gupta creation for my Sagan and it was a great choice of colour and style. The peacock designs and the pretty colours added to the charm," Label: Jay MakhijaPics via Siddharth Sharma Photography
Rajvi says " I was in love with my outfits from Jay Makhija . He has a studio in Khar next to Sancho's and is by appointment only" Label: Nancy Bhaika April says "I have a deep fascination with Indian embroideries and my mother and sister run a bridal wear studio in Chandigarh. That's where my outfit came to life" Label: Tamanna Punjabi Kapoor Roshni says," I found the subtle colors and soft silhouettes I was looking for at Tamanna Punjabi Kapoor. She has beautiful pastels and she doesn't break the bank either" Label: Vineti BolakiPics via Dhoom Dhaam Weddings Photography
Amrit says "In total I had three events of which two I wore westerns. I was lucky enough to have a sister, Vineti Bolaki who is an amazing designer who did both my western outfits…so saved quite a bit there! Although I don’t think this applies to everyone. But in general I kept my outfits very light and fuss free. One of my outfits was less than 25k and my cocktail outfit was under a lakh. Both were by Vineti Bolaki ," Label: Bhavya BhatnagarPics via Through the Barrel
Rhea says "My wedding outfit was done by Bhavya Bhatnagar. I love Bhaavya’s work, her designs are clean understated statement pieces, and I love that. I was very particular about not wearing the traditional lehenga, so we worked out an ‘Anarkali Gown’ in a deep red, with tone on tone embroidery at the bottom and cut-outs at the waist. And the best part- I CAN WEAR IT AGAIN!"
