Your wedding day is what it all comes down to. The months of planning, the stress of the prep, the excitement – all of it coming down to one day. Especially for brides with makeup, hair happening, and photography happening, it can be quite stressful on the actual wedding day. And what if you forget something? You don’t want to add that hassle to your day. So we asked real brides on what was the most essential thing they carried on the day of the wedding and this is what they told us!

Do not ever forget your makeup remover for your post-wedding de-glam session. I forgot mine and had to make do with some random oil from the hotel we were staying at as everyone at home was too tired to send my bottle from home to me. It took me 40 mins to get it off and it was a disaster. So that is one thing I would recommend brides to carry!

I carried a box of effervescent instant electrolyte tablets for rehydration and energy. This ensured that I was hydrated without having to gulp litres of water. I was stressed about using the loo in my super heavy lehenga and this saved the day. One tab every 4-5 hours for that day did the trick!

The same lipstick that your makeup artist will use on you on the d-day! Very important. You need this for touch-ups later as the makeup artist will leave and then you won’t have that exact lipstick. Ask them beforehand, ideally during the trial, about the lipstick shade so you can buy it beforehand.

What I carried was body/fashion tape and it saved the day. Even after multiple trials, my bra was peeking from my plunge-neck blouse and I was in tears. That’s when I switched to body tape and it was such a relief. It held up well through the event without any glitches so I highly suggest you carry it as an emergency or just use that on your wedding day.

I carried and recommend all brides carry a small tub of Vaseline. The petroleum jelly one. It has so many uses. Helps with dry patches, lips also tames flyaways, and eyebrows and you can also use it for any shoe blisters that come with new shoes.
Shivani says
What I created for my wedding day was an emergency kit and had my best friend carry it for me. It had everything – safety pins, tampons, some cotton, a stain remover pen, bandages, a sewing kit, a lint roller and some mints. This was a lifesaver for me and I would vouch for this to all brides-to-be!

Backup shoes and sneakers. Trust me it will save your feet. I carried an old pair of heels and sneakers to change into after my reception was done as we had a post-party. Slipping into old shoes has a different feeling, trust me and I could enjoy my party so much better. You can also switch to the fun sneakers, just ensure they are not brand new so that they feel soft and nicer than new shoes!
