Jewellery is one of the heaviest expenses on the wedding shopping list, and given the number of occasions that are included in each wedding, it’s not always practical to purchase so much real jewellery. But that doesn’t mean you should give up on the idea of donning pretty jewellery! What will come to your rescue are amazing brands that do imitation jewellery. These cost a fraction of what your real polki and jadau pieces do plus they look fabulous. What’s more, if you are a destination wedding bride and don’t want to carry real jewellery (customs!) this is a clear winner. So when our real brides gave us the dope on stores they swear by, we had to share the list with you!

I found one via Wedmegood only! Mortantra is soooo good in whatever they make. I got an engagement set from them as we had a very last minute roka-ceremony and I dint want to buy something real on a short notice and Mortantra did a great job at creating that set. I got my mehendi and sangeet sets from them too and no one understood that they weren’t real gold.

Joolry by Karishma Mehra was an exhibition find when I was shopping for my sister’s wedding. Now that I am getting married, I picked up my bridal set from them which they customised to match my wedding lehenga. They also make small jewellery pieces which are great additions to my bridal trousseau!

If you want tribal silver jewellery, you have to check Aham jewellery out. They do great stuff. Aaraa by Avantika Jewellery is another name that does amazing silver jewellery. I feel silver jewellery is sort of an investment too as you are not buying artificial stuff .

I really wanted a long rani-haar on my wedding day but I dint think it was worth the spending. So when I saw the rani-haar on Just Jewellery Instagram page, I knew it was the one. It was a task to convince my parents to allow me to wear imitation jewellery on my wedding day but I managed. I also got a pair of trendy tassel earrings for my post-wedding functions from them.

I wanted some very unique pieces for my cocktail event and I dint want to do like tribal pieces and all. I found Isharya and fell in love with all their modern yet classic pieces that they do. They are so classy in the designs that will match any of your outfits. I really love them.

If you are looking for jewellery pieces that look like authentic ones, without that price tag, go to Zevar by Geeta. Her jewellery designs are beautiful, traditional yet very different from the rest. You can wear her jewellery for a fun mehendi event or even a traditional wedding day. I feel that is very important because it should be re-usable even after the wedding.

I was looking out for someone who would re-create a jewellery set I saw on Pinterest. JewelStyle on Instagram did it for me. It was a choker piece with dangling beads. They also have their own kundan and meenakari designs which are glorious. I got my bridesmaids matching earrings from them to wear on my wedding day, which were very cute.
