Pristine Wedding On The Riverfront in Kerala!

When you have a venue as pretty as The Kumarakom Lake Resort, it's hard to go wrong with your wedding. We loved reading through Anuhar's write up which contained simple ideas like sweet chocolate + Fab India skincare wedding favours to the nariyal paani stall she executed! We also really loved the bride and groom exit in a houseboat (total brownie points) on the lake - so sweet and all of this awesomeness captured perfectly by The Wedding Crasher Photography.
Meet Anuhar & Varun
"Varun and I met online. Yes, that is surprising but true. I was doing my dental internship in Delhi early in 2013 when his dad called me and told me his son was interested in getting in touch with me and that they had come to know of me from a matchmaking portal (weird, right?). From then on, we were in touch and I was surprised how very comfortable we were around each other. Though I was apprehensive, he got along so well with my family and instantly fit in that we were all impressed. At once, parents met up and the talk of wedding came about. First, the court wedding was done in Canada with few friends and a lovely lunch and then, the big fat Indian wedding where I took all the help I can get at WMG" says Anuhar.

The Wedding
From The Bride:
We wanted something different, a destination wedding but somewhere close so our near and dear ones can make it as well. We were also sure that we wanted something new to see and explore as part of the wedding! Kerala was our first choice and as we looked at millions of beautiful options we finally settled at The Kumarakom Lake Resort.
Our wedding invite consisted of a card and a candle with our wedding date and bride and grooms names on it placed in a handmade basket with a box of home-made chocolate truffles and candy. Our wedding favours: a small beauty basket with a face wash, a body lotion and a lip balm wrapped from Fab India with a chaandi coin of 10 grams placed in a cute bead box. A small but interesting detail at the wedding events was the narial paani stand that gave the guests a feel of the coastal region" adds Anuhar.
"My clothes were amazing through all the days. Day one, Sangeet/Mehendi, I wore a simple bright yellow Amrita Thakur lehenga with jewellery from Amrapali and my grandmothers Rani Haar. I also wore a set of Chand baalis made from moms local jeweller in Kenya - they were exquisite! The day two outfit was given to me by my mother-in-law it and was from Zari, Jaipur. I had two lehengas because my mom also ordered one from a designer in Delhi, based in GK1 and his name is Lalit Sengar.
