We love the getting ready session of this wedding ! Surrounded by her friends and sisters, sipping on a glass of bubbly is perhaps the perfect preparation for the madness that follows on your big day. And this wedding was madness alright- with venue changes just 3 days before the wedding (read the story at the end). Special mention to the gorgeous peony pink roses in the brides hair which are the perfect contrast to the stunning jewellery with emerald-green details. Impeccable styling right there :)

Wedding
From the bride: I remember going for this larger than life Indian wedding about 5 years back (where I couldn’t even see the bride amidst the mela) and deciding that day that I wanted to get married in our lawn at home. I would tell my parents and they always thought its something I would get over. So when my time came, my parents suggested the idea to my in-laws who were happy to get on board. And then started the journey of planning the wedding, ironing out finer details of décor, preparing to increase the area of our lawn, thinking if we’ll need ACs for a march outdoor day wedding… until….. 3 days before the wedding. It's like we woke up one day and the rain prediction had flipped. While it had been raining a few days before, and there was a 20% chance of rain earlier, suddenly the prediction said 80% chance of rain. We literally checked every website for a different prediction but no! The rain gods had made up their mind! Let me remind you that this was 3 DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. What followed was chaos ! Between me checking the weather forecast every 10 seconds and my dad hunting for an alternate venue , we realised that the community center close to my house had a big-ish hall, but ofcourse it had already been booked by someone else! Cut to the morning of the wedding when my brother showed me pictures of a re-vamped hall, complete with the colours and flowers I had picked :) I’m told that what ensued in the 3 days was nothing short of a movie – There was a father convincing someone to shift their venue, brothers assessing logistics, family trying to pretend that everything is under control and my mother trying every possible totka to stop the rain! Finally the baraat was received at the new venue and after lunch we moved to my house, which had by now been water proofed for the pheras (and thank god for that since it poured through the first 10 mins of our pheras) and doli. It was just the wedding I wanted – Feras at home, attended by our whole family and closest friends :)Vendors: Venues : Engagement at Le Meridien, Wedding at home Photographer: Evoke Images for bridal portraits, Johar Studios for other pictures | Brides outfits: Sangeet lehenga from Anushree Reddy , Bridal lehenga from Sabyasachi | Jewellery: Shri Ram Hari Ram Jewellers, Chandni Chowk s | Decor: Poonam Arora (9810262694) for Sangeet, Gaurav Rawal (9910070362) for wedding day | Makeup: Jasmeet Kapany Hair and Makeup | Grooms outfits: Abhishek Gupta| Catering: Cuisines and Concepts and Chottey Lal caterers
