Meet Yusra & Shuja
"So I met my husband in Chennai for the first time, he was visiting India for the second time as he is American by birth. I had met with a minor accident and I ruptured the ligaments around my left foot so I couldn't walk for a few weeks including the time he was visiting. He came home for tea, we had been speaking for 6 months by then. There was an instant spark! We spoke for hours and hours.
He was known as the guy who didn't want to marry someone outside USA and then came all the way to India just to see me. I don't know what it was about me that he loved so much but he was always trying to make me happy. He sent me a letter proposing to me haha. It had two boxes checked yes and no. I ticked YES beside will you marry me?" explains Yusra.
The Mehendi
The Sangeet
The Wedding
From The Bride:
"The Mehendi & Sangeet ceremony took place in The ITC Grand Chola in Chennai. The theme of the decor by Prabha Talwar was a blend of traditional and modern ideas with heavy use of orange and yellow marigold garlands and drapes. It had a beautiful "Mehendi Corner" exclusively made for the ladies. The Sangeet menu had a theme of "Áround the World" as the guests were a mix of Indians and Americans. They also had some fun dance performances from the bride's side where all the cousins and friends danced their heart out on the music played by DJ Ashish," says Yusra.
"I wanted a Royal look for my wedding and I found my dream outfit at Saroj Jalan. Shuja complimented me seamlessly in his gold Sherwani designed by Nasir. " adds Yusra.
"It was an absolute pleasure working with Rohan & Puja of Rohan Mishra Photography this past May in Chennai. Yusra & I are beyond thrilled with all of the photos. The clarity, resolution & vividness in all of them are stunning. As an amateur photographer, it was a joy to watch their teamwork analyze and execute each shoot. Without any prior setup, they were able to make each setting work and produce photos that I could not even visualize at the time of shooting. Rohan & Puja clearly demonstrate that photography is far more than just having high-end camera equipment. The quality of the final product is absolutely determined by one’s talent, and these two have it in spades," explains Shuja.
