Meet Neelima & Sumant

We met each other during MBBS! We were batchmates in JIPMER, Pondicherry, and had quite a lot of postings together which is when we started talking. Our relationship started there and then we both did our post-graduation in Ophthalmology from AIIMS, New Delhi and we were batchmates there as well! Through exams and duties and more exams and a pandemic and quarantines, the last 6 years together have been quite eventful!

From The Bride

We got married on 21st April 2022. So since I come from Kerala and he is from Agra, we had to include wedding traditions from both sides. The festivities kicked off on 20th April with a Sangeet that was Bollywood themed and we had a live orchestra and song and dance performances by both sides of the family dedicated to the bride and groom. For the wedding on 21st April, we had the Kerala traditional wedding or Thalikettu in the morning, complete with the characteristic Kerala feast or Sadya. This was followed by a North Indian-style wedding and Pheras in the evening. The reception was on 22nd April for which we had a literary-themed event to celebrate our love for everything bookish. The stage had a book-shaped backdrop with quotes from some of our favorite books.
