This cold, mid-wintery-type day really needs a chilled out wedding and that's why this Mauritius wedding ticks all the right boxes. A sweet union between a "gora" boy and an Indian beauty is all kinds of sweet with a dreamy beach wedding in Mauritius and along came some great designer outfits, sweet "Periodic table" table cards and the cutest umbrella giveaways. Photography by Doorgesh Mungur was beautiful and captured the chilled vibe at the wedding beautiffully!
Meet Vartika & Thibaut
"Well it is a pretty funny story, Thibaut and I were in med school together and I had this massive crush on him since year one but he was just not interested at that time. We still were good friends though and then in the 6th year for our clinical postings we were in the same hospital and he realised he might just be in love with me. And that's how we got together. But things were not so easy because he was a 'gora' and I was the typical Indian girl for whom my parents were actively looking for an Indian groom. Things were meant to be I think. When my parents met him, even though my dad had his doubts, Thibaut quickly integrated into the family. He is even more Indian than me at times ;p and yes, it's been four years already since we have been together and it's been my very own fairytale till now," explains Varitka.

The Wedding & Reception
From The Bride:
"I had always wanted this big fat Indian wedding and I think everyone- my dad, mom, baby sis and Thibaut have done everything to make me happy. Mauritius was the obvious choice, it is after all paradise on earth. We had been planning this wedding for 2 years and I think it turned out perfect despite a few weather mishaps- it started raining at one point during our outdoor wedding ceremony!!!! Thank god it only lasted 5 minutes and we had thought of umbrellas for wedding favours ;p
I have a special mention for our photographer and videographer, they are amazing. Doorgesh is a Mauritian-based, internally recognised award-winning photographer, he does mostly weddings. He put us at ease immediately and I think that's what made the pictures amazing. And Arvind, does mostly commercial international clips, and a few weddings. I think both of them represent talent at its best. They have been humble and down to earth, at the end of the wedding week, we felt like they were part of family and this wedding wouldn't be what it was without them," says Vartika.
