Nat & Phil's Jungle-Inspired Indo-French Destination Wedding In Goa!

BY The WMG Bride | 03 Sep, 2015 | 5597 views | 3 min read

Getting married as the sun sets, under a banyan tree with those sweet little Arabian lamps that swayed in the wind like no one's watching - we can't think of too many better ways to tie the knot. This sophisticated Indo-French wedding is equal parts classic and equal parts kitschy. While we loved the bride's champagne lehenga, we almost dreamy stared at the lighting and the decor that made this wedding unique . Sunny Pariani, the photographer captured the liveliness of the wedding and all the love surrounding it with this beautiful album.

Meet Nat & Phil

The bride Nat says "We met 6 years ago when my sister Radhika and I crashed Phil's birthday party at an awesome beach house in Gorai. He was doing a one year stint in Bombay at the time. We then spent the next few years seeing each other while living in different countries, before we finally took the plunge and settled down in Singapore, which is now our base for a while." "We got married in Goa at the end of February. The vision was to have a small, rustic wedding. For the venue, we were dead sure not to have it at a hotel and so the Quest for an outdoor, green space that was non-commercial and natural began. We wanted a different vibe for each of our three functions – a sunset on the sea for the cocktail, something heritage and regal for the Mehendi and then a secret garden/something jungle-like for the wedding – a tall order indeed."

All the small bits of ‘magic dust’ came from Pinterest. It’s a brilliant resource and I found great ideas there on the small details – a Polaroid camera for people to click photos and stick into a guestbook, a funky checkered dance floor, chalk board signs, a photo tree, mason jars, flower arrangements, etc. 38-Sunny_Pariani_Photography-3744-Sunny_Pariani_Photography-43Sunny_Pariani_Photography-46gallery From The Bride: My vision for myself as a bride was to be totally natural, relaxed and non-stressed – all of which totally came through. I’m far from demure and I wanted to just have as much fun and the best time in the world at the biggest three-day party (festival, really) I’d ever have! In terms of style, I didn’t want anything over the top – I knew I’d be in champagne, not red for the wedding and something funky and colourful for the mehendi. The clothes and jewellery credit goes fully to my masi (aunt) who had very clear vision and helped me look and feel the way I did. All vendors were fantastic - super helpful. The whole team at Ishavilas was outstanding and did well over and above what was expected.
