Misuse Of WedMeGood Platform by Fraudulent Entities

It has been brought to our notice that some users have contacted vendors listed on WMG and are exploiting vendors to solicit money out of them with false commitments.

There have been a lot of recent incidents of Fraudulent Communication that have come to our notice which we would like to caution & educate our esteemed vendors about. Some of the fraudulent incidents that we have come across recently have been elaborated below.

1) Soliciting money using UPI Apps or online payment platforms 

In our experience, clients use UPI apps (or platforms that accept money online via an app) to carry out transactions in the pretext of transferring advance payments and end up deducting that amount from the vendor's bank account. 

In such incidents, a user transfers some minimum amount & shares a UPI App payment link with the vendor and mentions that once they confirm that the amount has been transferred to the right person they will transfer the entire advance. However, once they click on the link, all the funds from their bank account get transferred to the fraudster.

We request all our vendors to be careful and be vigilant in such cases and report such cases immediately.

We suggest you all to use bank transfers methods such as NEFT and RTGS for all your business transactions, as much as possible. 

2) Fraud Agencies:

External agencies who are contacting vendors and are scamming them by asking for money as a guarantee amount.  In such cases, some external agencies make false commitments to the vendor about being hired for providing services for renowned singers/artists and requests them to transfer some amount as a guarantee to confirm their presence. They also urge them to book their flight tickets, the amount for which is promised to be reimbursed later.

Please note, WedMeGood has absolutely no association with any such agency. We do not endorse/ preferentially treat any external brands. Any possible claims made of preferential treatment are completely unethical, and we'd request you to do a proper background check of such users at your end before making the payments.

3) Impersonating WMG professionals:

Some individuals are getting in touch with professionals and using our brand name and trying to sell packages and soliciting money claiming to be an official WMG representative. Please keep in mind the below mentioned points before making any payment for WedMeGood.

The following are ways in which you could Identify Genuine Communication from WedMeGood:

1. After a representative gets in touch with you, they will send a proposal email.
2. You will always receive a mail from an Official WedMeGood Account, for eg: xyz@wedmegood.com. Do not trust emails from any other email address. 
3. All monetary transactions would be done with the official company account i.e., WMG Tech Pvt. Ltd.  
4. On the payment link, you will always find WedMeGood's official logo.  

Other than the above, any possible claims made of preferential treatment are completely unethical, and we'd request you to do a proper background check of such users at your end before making the payments. 

We do not have any other domain name - not wedmegood . in, not .co.in, it's just www.wedmegood.com and any email communication coming from us will be from an email address with @wedmegood.com.  

We are trying our best to put in place a mechanism for reporting spam/fraud, till the time we are working on it, please cooperate with us.
