Manish Malhotra's Bridal Collection at India Couture Week 2016 : The Persian Story

All roads led to Taj Palace in New Delhi yesterday, half of which came to see Manish Malhotra's new bridal collection titled "The Persian Story" and half of which came to get a peek at Fawad Khan & Deepika Padukone. Let's face it people- Delhi is Bollywood obsessed. Anyhow, while we got a glimpse of both (follow WedMeGood Snapchat for the entire live show), here were our favourites from the night. The off shoulder blouse with a frill edging was super chic and the contrast of deep ruby red against the pale dove grey truly popped.

Thoughts on the collection:  While there were some standout elements for us - the metallic blouse with a fringe, the off shoulder silhouettes and the sarees with frilled edges with Tartan blouses, the collection on the whole was slightly overdone for us. We love Manish Malhotra when he keeps it simple, and our favourite pieces remained the simpler ones.

While we are pretty sure that brides will make a beeline for some of these pieces , and Deepika's red lehenga will pretty much be saved on every bride's phone, we wish we had seen a bit of a mixup in the collection as it tended to look similar mid-way through.

However Manish does know how to throw a show, and this show had all the trappings and drama of an out and out Manish Malhotra entertainer.
