The current bridal makeup trend is all about Minimalism. With Intimate Weddings being the norm during these trying times a bride still wants to look her best. Soft kohl lined eyes with a pop of shimmer and a soft dewy base make for the perfect minimalistic bride!

This year is going to be about clean lines and soft colours in the world of intimate weddings and celebrations. While the highlight will be on the eyes, the main focus is keeping in mind the venue and the atmosphere. When you don't have harsh lights or don't have to stand for your reception at a windy location, sky is the limit and brides are embracing that.

The one look that will trend this season’s intimate weddings is definitely a soft radiant glamorous look without any chunky jewellery. Radiant looking skin is very important since small wedding have limited people who see you up close and personal. Also minus huge sets and decor a soft natural look will make it work vs. the bold eyes and dark lip looks with over the top jewellery. Small accents of fresh flowers add freshness to the look.

The word “change” had so much power, who would have thought the intensity of this word could be as drastic as we are witnessing in these covid times. Things have changed, ways have changed, perceptions have changed and so have the Indian wedding scenario. From being absurdly lavish to being humbly intimate affairs. Now the budget for the wedding weighs last on the family’s mind and the idea of fun & happy times takes the centre satge. Change has also touched the bride’s wishes of how she should look on her big day. Now she wants to be seen as who she really is and not as an idea of a perfect beauty. Now she want that her wedding makeup should feel fresh & natural & most importantly like her real self. Now they want the eyes to speak. For them, a subtle & a skin like looking base, a peach blush to give a flush to her face, mink false lashes complementing the eyes, natural lenses which incorporate the colour of the jewellery. A peachish nude lipper with a gloss which gives a plump to her lips for a confident smile. For her hair she wants a floral story complementing her outfit theme.

The minimalist wedding makeup has been a massive trend for the 2020 season even more so during the pandemic. With a lot of intimate weddings happening, the key is to choose a style that fits the bride's personality truly reflecting their most beautiful version at the same time keeping it very natural. A lot of brides are opting for pastel shades to wear on their wedding day which is a nice change from the usual reds and pinks.

With intimate weddings being on the list of most brides, this year due to the Covid 19, as the name suggests, guests being just the near and dear ones, the subtle, flushed face look is going to be the highlight of the bridal looks, while few may opt for heavy eyes while keeping the skin subtle and dewy, choice of the look also depends on the brides outfits, jewellery and the venue they choose - Home weddings, farm house / resort weddings. All the factors go in deciding the look.

Nude and glam is the new crush and why not. After all, it's the era of small intimate weddings with new enthusiasm. Moreover, over the Top & hefty eye makeup looks are off scales now and is replaced with simple and subtle makeup looks which in turn compliments her true inner beauty.

Glamorous kohl-filled eyes, glittery lids and luscious lashes is my trademark style for a timeless bridal look. I truly believe Eyes are the mirrors to the soul, so I like to highlight this feature for my stunning brides. One beautiful trend that has come up due to the COVID pandemic is that the Brides are getting intricately embellished face masks to match their lehengas.  At such times, when half of the face is covered with a mask, bold eyes steal the show and really elevate the bridal look. Mixing glitter pigments of different sizes to create a more 3-D holographic eye look is a great concept. For the demure brides who prefer a simple and subtle touch of glam, use liquid shimmer shadows from MAC or Urban Decay for a little pop of shine on the lids. For lips, I love matte lipsticks as they are extremely long-wearing which a must for the bride. Finish hydrating mist for a dewy look and dazzling highlighters to accentuate the bride’s youthful radiant complexion.

From pretty and dainty to nude and glam, we are currently crushing over the much in trend intimate wedding makeup looks. It’s the era of small intimate weddings with newer trends and inspiration. The most favourite intimate wedding makeup this season would be of simple and subtle makeup look, and not the heavy bridal makeover. We would love to focus on the skin giving it a dewy fresh look .The flawless makeup with pink lips and a little blush on the cheeks is our favourite for an intimate wedding affair.

Bridal makeup during this pandemic has posed certain challenges for all MUAs. The look that I have liked doing for my brides during Covid is mainly to highlight the eyes and obviously go easy on the lips. However, one can’t forget such an important feature and leave it at the mercy of the face mask. The main thing that I have altered in the bridal look is to use transfer proof lipstick. I had to say goodbye to glossy lipsticks and lip glosses because of their inability to stay on the lips. Obviously the bride is going to remove her mask at some point of time so I make sure that the lipstick is smudge proof and complements her look well. The eyes have gained all the more importance but keeping in mind the intimate guest lists and toned down celebrations I keep the look glamorous yet elegant. The humid weather in North India coupled with the mask on the face make it difficult for the bride not to sweat. I like to see this classy and clean. Smokey is a big no for me this season. Clean lines, bindis, well defined eyes are the go-to for me.

The skin should be given utmost importance. The natural dewy look and soft eye makeup is here for a reason. Finish it off with wispy lashes. Steer clear of the dark or bright lipstick as it might get smudged because of the face mask
