Even though a lot of people have started to do these, nothing is more fun than an impromptu Flash Mob!
What is it?
The dictionary definition says "A flash mob (or flashmob)[1] is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression. "
What it means at a wedding
Well, you rehearse some simple coordinated steps with a group of 20 -25 people. Then on the day of the Sangeet, one person just starts to dance randomly on the dance floor. As people look on amused, one more person joins him, then another, then another till all the 20 are performing coordinated steps much to everyones amusement

What an awesome Flash Mob this one is !!
How to organise your own Indian wedding flash mob :
1. Hire a Choreographer. You can take a look at some of the choreographers in our vendor showcase to begin with (We are still updating these)
2. List down the names of people who will be involved. The bigger, the better- you should take atleast 20 for a crazy impact.
3. Pick a cool song - something that makes others want to join in and dance- Think London Thumakda, or Aivee Aivee!
4. Ensure the best dancers are the ones starting the flash mob. It could be 1-2 people who will start the mob with just a couple of more difficult steps that others don't need to learn
5. After the first few dancers, make sure everyone else learns ALL the steps irrespective of when the yr entering the mob. Keep the steps super easy and fail proof . Just a hand wave, a leg shake, a clap- stuff like that.
6. Then assign the point at which different people will enter. Entry in groups of 4 is ideal and make sure people enter the mob from different directions- one person from the left, one from the right, one from right in front.
7. The entire mob should be together till about first minute and a half and then dance together.
8. Practice, practice Practice till everyone knows when they are entering, and where they are entering from
9. On the day of your sangeet, or reception assign one person who will give a cue to get every body kind of around at one place. A whatsapp group can be organised for the same. But people should still look natural like they are at that place for a reason, not to dance.
10. If you are already having performances on your sangeet, then do this once all the performances are over and people dont expect a performance, else if you are doing this on your cocktail and reception wait till people are a few drinks down to really kick off the party !
11. To really have an impact- don't do the flash mob on stage- it makes people expect a performance, let the flash mob start at any random location, near the tables, near the dance floor, (on top of the tables...haha) ..and then let the first few dancers move it towards the stage
12. If you really want to throw a surprise, then don't do the flash mob yourselves, ask the waiters at your event to do a flash mob. Its crazy fun and totally unexpected!!!!!
13. You could even do a "Freeze" Flash mob where everyone freezes for a few seconds at a cue, then begins to be normal, then freezes again and then walks towards the dance floor
