After all long weekends mean everyone can attend and you can send your save the dates out soon!

New Year Weekend (30th Dec -31st Dec -1st Jan)
Frankly it’s quite late to plan a wedding which is just 2 months away but if you are looking at an intimate destination wedding then there is no weekend like this one to pull off a big matrimonial party!

Republic Day Weekend (26th-28th Jan)
Everyone has a holiday on this weekend so you can be rest assured that no one will miss your wedding!

This long weekend is no less than a jackpot. Your guests won’t even need to take a single day off and still you would get a four-day long weekend. After all, two back-to-back public holidays are lined up in the form of Mahavir Jayanti on March 29th and Good Friday is on March 30th. And then there’s a weekend. What better!

Buddha Purnima weekend (26th - 29th May)
This one is perfectly in the summer wedding month. All you need to do is take a leave on Monday, and you are all set for a 4-day weekend. Mehendi, Sangeet, Wedding, Reception – all set!

Id-ul-Fitr Weekend (15th -17th June)
This one is in a monsoon so you can have a monsoon wedding. Since there is humidity all around, opt for places which are dry and ideally, don’t have the sea near them. This is also an ideal time to have a budget wedding as its off-season and everything is much cheaper!

Onam Weekend (24th to 26th June)
Another monsoon wedding weekend for you. If you are a South-Indian, this may be ideal as Onam is auspicious to many. You can opt for a smaller and more intimate wedding as this is a three-day weekend without the hassles of travelling on monsoons.

Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi Weekend (8th to 16th Sept)
If you have both Muharram and Ganesh Chaturthi as holidays, this is going to turn into the mother of all long weekends in India 2018. There can be as many as nine days in this long weekend, with three leaves, i.e., on Sep 10th, 12th and 14th. Muharram is on Tuesday, Sep 11th, and Ganesh Chaturthi is on Sep 13th. Or you can opt for one of the two breaks, 8th-11th & 13th-16th. This will give you a four day long weekend each and also requires your guests to take just one leave!

Exactly a year from now, you could be zeroing down on this weekend for your perfect destination wedding. It’s right when the festivities begin, the climate gets cooler and its not peak season yet so you get all the good deals too!

Christmas Weekend (22nd – 25th Dec)
Who wouldn’t love a Christmas wedding?! Especially a Christian one! All you need to do is take a leave on 24th and you are all set for a 4-day long Christmas wedding break. December is the peak wedding season so make sure that you book this weekend soon as it will get booked out quickly. It’s cold is northern India but you can still opt for some locations that are pleasant enough to take out your velvet lehengas!
