BY The WMG Bride | 05 Apr, 2016 | 3527 views | 3 min read
Another day, another fashion week, this time it came with a healthy dose of Indian wear and oodles of new silhouettes we are dying to try out. And that only begs the one question: when do we get started on the next wedding? So for brides, parents, bridesmaids and guests, there are a slew of ideas just right here this season at LFW so read on...
Classic Ideas: Sva Couture
As usual, SVA stuck to what they know - simple pastels and great menswear too. The embellished jacket on blouse combo really was a modern outtake.
Smoky Sangeet Outfits: Surendri
This time, Surendri was all about greys and maroons and modern silhouettes - best for a casual cocktail or sangeet.
Floral glam: Neeta Lulla
It was the blouses that are new in Neeta Lulla's kitty this time - off-shoulder and boat-necks, lots to look forward to.
Scallop Love: Jayanti Reddy
Scalloped designs on lehengas were always her deal - that's why we love how this time she went ahead with some great colour to add to these!
Jamdani Craze: Gaurang Shah
Gaurang uses calico, homage to the traditional textile from the 11th century. The collection mixes traditional jamdani weaving tailored to silhouettes from the royal India in 1920s.
Evening Glam: Payal Singhal
Prints were her mainstay and this time she innovatively paired them with benasari and sheers to get them going.
Sheer Blouses: Swati & Sunaina
Their collection was about handspun fine cottons and luxurious Zari tissues - especially the blouses. Mughal motifs were also used to give it some nostalgia.
Modern Nostalgia: Asif
Asif Shaikh in collaboration with Abdul-Jabbar Khatri (Master Ajrakh block printer) makes his collection as a tribute to Ajrakh prints embellished with hand embroidered Ari and Zardozi using different kinds of hand woven pure silk fabrics.
Shiny Modern Bride: Anand Kabra
Jackets on shararas and saris - Anand Kabra knows how to make a bride look well-put and contemporary - very mod!
Golden Hour: Anupama Bose
Artisan AnupamaBose in collaboration with Islamdubbin Neelgar called her collection ‘satrangi’ which is inspired by the colours of the rainbow on handloom silk tussar. To this, she added Jaipur’s famed gota-patti work using gota ribbons folded in various shapes.
Quirk Belle: Payal Khandwala
Bright lehengas worn with white shirts and saris worn with shirt blouses - Payal khandwala keeps it fresh once again in her signature style!
Silky Bride: Anita Dongre
This season, Anita Dongre went minimalistic - said goodbye to her trademark gota patti and went ahead with printed spring silks.
Simple Pinks: Anushree Reddy
Following her style from all seasons, Anushree Reddy hasn't changed much. But yes, blouses went more modern and she went all white this time!
