There is something so special about this Bangalore wedding- there was a certain warmth that we don't get to see in too many weddings! Arya and Rachit had a beautiful intimate wedding in Bangalore, and we loved the vibe of the wedding! From a pretty venue which looked beautiful on camera to the bride's special entry with her nieces, there are so many things that we loved about this cross-culture wedding. Kudos to the team at Stories by Bhuwan Gupta for capturing it on their lens impeccably.
Meet Arya and Rachit
I met Rachit while pursuing my MBA from National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore in 2016. We quickly became very close friends and also lived together in an apartment our last semester with 4 other NUS friends to save on housing cost. Post graduation in 2018, I moved back to India while he started working in Singapore. We used to meet at least once every year and do trips with 2 of our close friends from MBA, who also happened to share the apartment with us. I visited him and my other Singapore friends in Mar 2020, just before lockdown and that's when sparks ignited. We were in a long-distance relationship until Dec 2021 when I decided to move to Singapore. In Dec 2021, while Rachit was visiting India after 2 long years, we told our families about our relationship to seek their blessings and announce my decision to move to Singapore and that's when Rachit like a true gentleman asked my parents permission to take me along with him. We lived-in for a year with our parents' and families' knowledge before getting married in Feb 2022. We have been blessed to have extremely progressive families that have supported both of us in all of our decisions.
Wedding
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on February 22, 2023. When we decided to get married, we always knew that we wanted to have a small intimate gathering with close family and friends. And I always knew that I wanted a muted wedding mood-board with lots of whites and spurts of gold and pink. I was very particular to enforce the colour theme in the decor and clothing of family and friends. While looking for a wedding venue, we were clear that it has to be at a farmhouse with a warm feel and no distraction of big resort-like property so that everyone spends maximum time with one another.
Since we were having an intimate wedding with 60 guests including all family members and friends, it was essential for us that everyone truly comes together as #OneBigFamily without any boundaries like bride's side or groom's side.
We had a sundowner wedding, in which Rachit's three adorable nieces (he has two elder brothers who have three lovely daughters- who still call me didi and not chachi) and my sister walked me down the aisle as my bride-maids. His nieces (now mine too) were truly the showstoppers of the event. The pagadi for the family and friends didnt follow a different colour scheme for boy's side and girl's side - people choose whichever colour they liked. Since, we have been friends for 6 years and know each others families so well - we have always felt like 1 big family. Hence whether it was wedding planning or execution - both sides participated in all bride and groom's ceremonies. Though I am a South Indian, we decided to follow North Indian-Brahmin style of rituals for the wedding as Rachit is from Indore. Rachit's 'Janevu' ceremony included not just his dad and his brothers but also my dad and my uncle (bride). And similarly, my Haldi-Get-Up come Chuda ceremony was done by my mom-in-law and Rachit's bhabhis (sis-in-laws) in addition to my mom and aunt. Our haldi ceremony was done together with all family and friends participating. The rituals were simple and muted to enable more equal representation of roles and responsibilities and were completed in less than an hour. I think it's important for families to truly come together as #OneBigFamily during a wedding. Finally, we ended the wedding evening with a musical night under a starry canopy of lights. We had hired a local star guitarist cum excellent singer - Tanveer Khan who just elevated the mood with his amazing voice and gave a night of music and dance. All family members and friends danced and sang together that night.
About The WedMeGood App
My sister-in-law (Rachit's bhabhi) actually came across Aashrey Getaway on WedMeGood and shared the location with me and since I (Bride) am from Bangalore. I checked it out during my Diwali trip to India and it was 'love at first sight' with the location. Once the location was locked, I used WedMeGood app to find all other vendors and together with Rachit-planned the entire wedding. For NRIs like us, its becoming ever so important to have an intimate wedding and one that you can plan and control. Hence, I think that WedMeGood is a great platform to help research for vendors and plan your own wedding.
WedMeGood helped me find my photographer, makeup artist and research for the venue and pricing. It's a one stop-solution for everything weddings!
Vendor Reviews
Venue: Aashrey Getaway
For a small intimate wedding - there is no place better than Aashrey Getaway. Rachit n I had our most beautiful fairytale wedding at Aashrey and it was the best decision ever. The staff at Aashrey is hands down the best one that I have been served by. In terms of hospitality - they can beat even the Taj group. In house staff is led by Raj with Aakash, Vijay, Munna, Dinesh, Kaaru, and rest of the team are the kindest people who made our stay warm n memorable. The chef is amazing at his job n can make even home cooked food taste special. Highly recommend Aashrey if you ever want to get married at a homely property. Thank you Aashrey!

We were recommend Bhuwan by our sis in law who said that I have a good candid photographer who can make pics look naturally artistic. And we made the right choice by deciding to go ahead with him. Bhuwan and his team are sincere, creative and deliver on timelines. Overall the experience was amazing with working with Bhuwan and his team.
Bridal Lehenga: Astha Narang
My wedding lehenga was from Astha Narang - which was love at first sight as the design is simple and classy. The fabric quality is impeccable. Being an NRI- i had limited time for fittings and to follow up on the customisation of my lehenga. However, Vinni from Astha Narang's team made the process super easy by providing online video follow-ups. Also, she and the team ensure timely delivery of the lehenga.
