There is something about a home wedding which just reflects so beautifully in photos. And when it is as gorgeous as Nehmat and Sidhant's, then you just can't help but get all warm and fuzzy inside. Their wedding, which happened at home with the bride and her brother being at the helm of planning was a beautiful one in every sense. Right from the décor, to the cute little additions and of course the bridal looks, everything was inspirational! It all translated beautifully on camera too, shot to perfection by Beginnings For You . Check out this intimate yet amazing wedding that took place in Ferozepur.
Meet Nehmat and Sidhant
5 years ago Sidhant and I met during counselling session for residency and if I am being honest, Sidhant had me at hello! Ever since we first met we just couldn’t stop talking. We ended up in the same college and there was no looking back. Those three years in Amritsar were absolutely golden! Being doctors, we had extremely demanding working hours. Ever so often date nights meant ordering in pizza at 2 am while on duty. For three whole years of residency we’ve had all our meals together, even if it meant having lunch at 5 pm or dinner at 2 am. And just like that we found home in each other. Amritsar gave us endless stories and the most cherished memories. Once in a lifetime you meet someone that makes everything else immaterial and when you do find that person, you hold on to them forever!
Engagement
Mehendi
Haldi
Wedding
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on 19th February, 2023. I always wanted to get married at home and have intimate functions and that’s what we did. All events were held at various lawns of my home. My brother @nayaabdhingra and I spent endless hours planning every minute detail. Mehendi was held on a winter afternoon under the trees on manjis, with a pop of colour and quirk all around. The backdrop for haldi was kaleere adorned with flowers in hues of sunshine. Phere had a vintage feel with tones of ivory and dull gold with lots of tiny customised details in every corner. I walked down to shagnaa di sham being sung live by Sahil Dhandia and it was one of the most beautiful moments!
Tips For Brides-to-be
Every bride has envisioned this beautiful day in her own way which is true to her personality and while the planning is a huge task, here are some key points that I wished someone had told me!
- The two most important vendors are make up artist and photographer and they must be booked at least 4-5 months in advance.
- Decor will set the whole vibe for the event so choose well after reviewing the work. The vendors that you choose must understand your vision and you must be able to trust them completely.
- Choosing different tones of the same colour or colours that compliment each other, for close family and the groom, will give you even more beautiful pictures.
- Have a different vibe for each event in terms of time of the day, concept and of course your outfits so you have fun while it doesn’t feel repetitive.
- Most importantly, cherish the planning time because you are going to miss it immensely and don’t try to fit into a box, decorate and celebrate traditions your way!
Vendor Reviews
Makeup Artist: Tanya Kaur
I couldn’t have been happier with her work! She spent time understanding exactly what I wanted in terms of the look. Punctual, effortless, extremely skilled and very good at her job. Picking her was one of the best decisions I made.
Photographer: Beginnings For You
Simran covered our engagement in October 2022 and ever since we knew the wedding would be covered by none other than her. She goes the extra mile to give you the most beautiful memories and makes the process hassle free too. She and her team were always the first ones to arrive and last ones to leave and every little emotion was beautifully captured. It was sheer joy to work with her!
Decor: Baegham Kot
Rabani and Seerat had done the decor for our engagement too and we were very happy with their work. I felt like they understood my vision and worked tirelessly to execute it.
Bridal Lehenga: A&R by Rhea Kapoor
I had always pictured myself in ivory and dull gold lehenga and as soon as I lay my eyes on that lehenga I knew it was the one. The dupatta was customised for me and the lehenga made me feel as beautiful on my wedding as I had hoped it would!
Groomwear: Rachit Khanna
It was designed to perfection! It fit perfectly in the very first trial and no further trials were needed!
