Indian-American weddings are a mix of two cultures, but we are sure you don't want your wedding photos to look like a hot mess. That is why, Asawari and James decided to specially create and curate outfits and jewellery for everyone including themselves, which made their pretty Virginia Vineyard wedding look even prettier. We loved the bride's intricate bridal lehenga and the special attention to details for the groom's outfit by Isa by Dolly Wahal★ 4.7 , a label based out of Mumbai who brainstormed and created each outfit for this wedding in the US. Everything about the wedding is simple and fresh, and we're absolutely doting on it!

Meet Asawari & James

I'm a psychiatrist and James a general surgeon. We met and fell in love in New Orleans while attending medical school. After dating for a while- we knew we wanted to tie the knot and spend the rest of our lives together.

With my Indian roots and James' Italian-American heritage- we wanted the wedding to be a perfect fusion of both cultures. Our wedding aesthetic was a beautiful blend of both with the luxurious and intricate Indian outfits, the 'baraat' with Jamie coming in on a horse and a contemporary touch with the rustic vineyard setting. Along with a traditional Indian sangeet ceremony, we also hosted a New Orleans inspired welcome party.

We were grateful and excited to be dressed by Isa By Dolly Wahal for all events. We were overjoyed to be able to work closely with Dolly to create our dream outfits from scratch. The embroidery, the detailing, the sheer opulence of the outfits- I loved everything. I will cherish my bridal trousseau forever- it created the perfect landscape for the entire outdoor wedding we had. Additionally, we had my bridesmaids and the groomsmen dressed in coordinated attire created and curated by Isa By Dolly Wahal too.

We wanted James' wedding outfit to honour his Italian heritage and sophisticated style. Isa By Dolly Wahal was able to create the perfect outfit with a personalized emblem with my name on his pocketsquare.

From impromptu moments in between, to the signature Indian wedding shots, they were able to bring our wedding to life with such beauty. I especially cherish the shots of our phera moments and the ones of me hanging out with my bridesmaids!

Decor: Sarah Khan Events.

It was perfect! We wanted the decor to reflect the fusion of an Indian and American wedding. Vibrant teal and fuschia floral arrangements adorned the winery, which we further accented in my bridal lehenga. The bright colours & rustic edge to the decor created the perfect homage to our mixed heritage.

Jewellery: Kohar By Kanika. I was able to collaborate with them to match the fuschia and teal tones in my bridal outfit with the jewellery. The outfits are the jewellery were perfectly coordinated and very intricate.
