A Hyderabad Wedding in hues of gold

BY The WMG Bride | 29 Aug, 2014 | 9968 views | 3 min read

This bride says her vision for her wedding was a "Fusion Princess" look between  Telugu (her hometown is Hyderabad) , Oriya (her parents are from Odissa)  and Bengali (she loves Bengali Brides)   and taking a look at her photos- the combination of the dupatta , the mathapatti (the octopus mathapatti like we call it), along with her kanchi pattu saree definitely makes us understand why ! Captured by the amazing  Soumya Radesh's  lens this bride wanted a royal wedding on a budget. See more below!

From the Bride: I was the brain of the wedding if I may say so, I wanted the wedding to look royal but on a budget . So while I didn't go for a theme as such , I just wanted to look and feel like a princess on my wedding and the regal theme fell in place all by itself because I  wanted a Palki to carry me to the Venue, and  I think that was my favorite part.

Honestly speaking I badly wanted a Sabyasaachi for my wedding to attain that princess like look , but i could not convince myself to splurge  on a wedding lehanga alone and hence  i decided to go for a Rich Kanchi Pattu Saree for the wedding and three other lehengas for Mehendi, Sangeeth and Reception  .My vision of a bride was a fusion princess(Telugu, Oriya and/or Bengali) since my parents are from Orissa but I have lived all my life in Hyderabad and Bengali brides have always looked so beautiful to me !

I must admit I chose my Saree under tremendous stress since I  had only 20 days left for the wedding to choose one and I had already exhausted 30 shops looking for a perfect Saree! Finally I found my Saree at Chennai Silks Secunderabad and it was love at first sight. For the Ghoonghat - I bought about 2 meters of Shimmer net cloth from Charminar and had my friend Vinoothna design the dupatta. She designed the duppata with gold lace since I wanted gold on the duppatta. She also added some stone work

My makeup artist Sandy is a magician at work, He did a fabulous job for my Sangeet and Wedding. I have always Adored Soumya  Radesh's Work , I had already decided to have them as my wedding photographers and never even thought of hiring anyone else . Their attention to the tiniest detail is very well reflected in all their pictures. They are the best at capturing human emotions.
