How To Use Glitter The Grown-Up Way At Your Wedding! (Bling, Shine, Dazzle!)

BY The WMG Bride | 29 Jul, 2015 | 5669 views | 3 min read

No matter who you are - a tomboy, an uber sophisticated chica or just a girly girl- there is one thing you probably cannot resist when it comes to a party or in this case, a wedding. And that's glitter. I mean, look at our Indian weddings with all their ornate ideas and glistening surfaces - it's hard to say no to all the shine. While the tacky craft store variety are best left to dancing outfits on stage, here are some absolutely fabulous, grown-up ways of using glitter on your wedding. I admit it can get tacky - that's why you need to be super careful. But it's also so much fun and adds to the glamour of the day.

1 . Sequinned Table cloth

Nothing screams elegant chic than a rose gold sequinned table cloth. Whether you want to dress up a rather boring banquet or just add some shimmer to a sundowner engagement, glittery table cloths are classy, fun and totally gorgeous. And no, you don't need glares to off-set the sheen, the lighting at the wedding will balance it out and add all the glam.

2. Glitter shower for the bride and the groom

Who says flowers are the only way to shower and bless the bride and groom. Keep a little pouch of flowers, confetti and glitter specs to throw on the newly married couple as they enter the reception. It totally is fun and effortless and.....new!

3. Glitter invitations cards

Invites set the tone for your wedding, and one that comes with glitter definitely says that the wedding is going to be one big party. Little tip- add some glitter specs inside the envelope for some fun.

4. Sequinned dupatta

5. Gold dusted cupcakes

6. Glitter gradients

7. The bride's shoes

1-glittershoes Go all out on your wedding heels. Bling it on with full on sparkle, shimmer and shine.

8. Glitter up your initials

Whether you want your initials to be a statement piece that's resting on a focus table, or just blown up as huge photo-booth backdrops, glitter them out to make a total statement.

9. Glitter Balloons #forever

2-balloon-decor-001 Just get balloons of any colour - translucent ones though. And fill them up with glitter so they shine through the entire ceremony. Super cheap, super cool.

10. Props for your pre-wedding shoots

Indulge in some cute DIYs like glitter hangers or glittered up champagne bottles and vases to use them as props for all your pre-wedding shoots. Nothing like some good glittery things for a great photo-op. Have more ideas where we can use glitter? Tell us!!
