Here's How We Would Style The 'Indian Matchmaking' Cast For Their Wedding!

BY Garvita | 22 Aug, 2020 | 3001 views | 3 min read

Though the lockdown ensured that we are hooked to the OTT platforms, but when Netflix company announced a show based on Indian Weddings, we knew we had to be the first one to binge-watch it. And it indeed happened when 'Indian Matchmaking' released! The show received mixed reviews, but nevertheless it was trending and how (followed by a series of fun, crazy memes)!

And we being someone who eats, sleeps and chants Indian weddings we knew we had to do something more to it. And *ting* comes an idea of dressing up the Indian Matchmaking' cast for their wedding. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

So what if Sima Taparia couldn't find a perfect match for any one of them, WMG got their wedding outfits ready at least! :P Go ahead and give it a read.

Aparna Shewakramani

Sima aunty may not agree, but we all found Aparna to be damn confident, unapologetic, and super unique! Her "I don't care what you think of me" attitude made us believe that she'll definitely opt for a fuss-free bridal outfit. Well, typical bridal hues would definitely not be on her list, hence we picked this Tarun Tahiliani sunset-hued lehenga saree, that'll totally be synonymous to her modern Indian woman vibe!

Pradhyuman Maloo

Oh boy, our designer freak! Someone who's so particular about the wardrobe of God & Goddess at his home will definitely not settle for something less jazzy for his special day. We picked this Manish Malhotra sherwani, with intricate hand embroidery craft with the signature sparkle! A jeweler without bling? Nah! Psstt.. we're totally imagining him entering the venue munching on some foxnuts.

Our adorable event planner who loves to dress up feminine and girly! Trust us, choosing a bridal outfit for her was indeed a smooth ride. We felt that she'll look like a dream in an offbeat pinkish hue, and hence opted for a Sabyasachi ‘Gulaab-doodh’ brocade lehenga with magnificently embroidered borders and a delicate organza dupatta. Ah, our weak hearts!

Vyasar Ganesan

If you've watched the show, we're sure you'll agree that one cannot 'not love' Vyasar'! He dressed up easy and super comfortable and we were sure that he'll look for the same in his groom wear as well. And our hunt ended with this timeless bandhgala by Varun Bahl, neatly tailored in a serene shade of pink. PERFECT!

Akshay Jakhete

Don't have much to say about him and you know why, but considering that Preeti aunty will be picking an outfit for him, we had to brainstorm a lot for this one! So much that it made our BP high. :P One glance at this traditional groom outfit by JJ Valaya, we knew Preeti aunty would love it and Akshay won't have a choice as always. The deep red tone, detailed embroidery, and a royal vibe; totally fit the bill.

Ankita Bansal

Founder of fashion brand, independent AF and so outspoken, that's Ankita for ya'll. Since she's also a sucker for old school romance, we thought why not ditch the lehenga and dress her up in an ethereal silk saree instead? Don't know about you but we're super excited to see her donning this Gold silk saree by Ekaya. Sheer elegance!

Phew, that wasn't easy at all! But I guess we nailed it with the looks. What say? Also, if you've still not watched Indian Matchmaking you better catch up because honestly, it is one of the best on best on Netflix India rn.
