We're loving it!
Now here is a wedding that stands out, and how! We love couples who have weddings that are a reflection of who they are, and here is one that seemed like an absolute blast! From the bride's offbeat style at each and every function, to the insane, McDonald's themed after party- Aanchal and Varun's wedding was as unique as they come. Totally vibing with everything about this fun wedding, and if you're looking for inspiration, then this one's a clear winner! Over to Aanchal as she takes us through all the pretty little personalised details of her gorgeous wedding!
Meet Aanchal and Varun
We met through a common friend, and started dating during the pandemic. We used to play a lot of Ludo and meet up for dates at Mc Donald's- so it's a Ludo & McDonald's Love Story! That's also why our hashtag was #LuckyinLudo.
Engagement/ Cocktail
This was the first event, and we wanted to do a very glam night and wanted everyone to have fun. The music was mostly 90's Bollywood- so it was very unconventional. The decor was Gatsby-oriented and very glamorous.
After Party
Since the groom is a hardcore McDonald's fan, it was apt to theme the after party around it! Couple of our first dates, since it was during the pandemic were at McDonalds since nothing else was open. Even today, a McDonald's Happy Meal makes him very happy! We did a a 'McMarried' photo Op, and was a pink-themed party, where everyone wore pink! We got customised Happy Meal boxes with 'McMarried' on them, and they turned out so cute!
Haldi
This was the theme I liked best- our Haldi was Bandhani themed. I love handloom and my mom has been involved with handloom work so it inspired me to pick this theme. I did not want to wear yellow, so I wore a very unique purple bandhani lehenga, and the decor was centred around my outfit. We also got bandhani and leheriya kaftans for all the bridesmaids and kurtas for the bridesmen.
Wedding
I've always loved a muted palette, and knew that red was not for me. The wedding was all ivory and gold, and I wanted to wear a simple lehenga- I wanted my jewellery to be the highlight of my look. Everyone dressed up in ivory, and the decor for the event was Lucknowi inspired, which worked well for the Sufi Night too.

After Party
This was the second after-party, which was Bollywood themed. I dressed up as Rani and my husband dressed up as Rocky Randhawa. Everyone followed the theme and we had so much fun!
