Utkrash is the designer and Creative Head at Matsya by Utkarsh Ahuja , the very popular and upcoming bridal label and when it came to his own wedding, he outdid himself. His bride wore unique outfits with even more unique co-ordinated themes. Even the decor matched her lehengas - now that's something! The small detail that got us smiling was the detailing on each lehenga - from dhol designs to unicorns and a fairytale forest detailing, it was a treat. The venues, ITC Grand Bharat and The Leela Ambience made it all worthwhile, photography by Artfoto Studios was stunning!
Meet Utkarsh & Resham
"Arranged and conspired by the family. I was in Ukraine for a shoot, she was in Paris for the summer. While we were away, her aunt and my bua being old friends, bumped into each other after ages, one thing led to another & suddenly we were sitting in front of each other. 3 dates, a lot of messages back and 22 days later, we were in it for good! Such a cliché, but when it fits, it just genuinely fits," explains Utkarsh.

The Wedding
From The Bride:
The wedding was to be a week long festival of dhols & madness. We both love the Dhol so the festivities started with a Dhol night, then a sundowner with Tomorrowland music, followed by a friends & family day out at ITC with a poolside mehendi & and all-nighter cocktail party. The wedding itself then was set in the middle of golf course, lake side, cherry blossoms , candles & the sound of acoustics of vintage Bollywood in a jazz setup. The baraat had no bands, just 14 dhols end to end making everyone go nuts. The invites to wedding design and the garments were done by the groom.
As for the vision behind the style, I was sure about the colour I wanted to wear but the aesthetics and the intricacies were put together by Matsya- everything handcrafted and designed from zilch with love and wonder. Each garment had a co-ordinated theme and sometimes the decor was designed to match them. I had an array of chand baalis as a design on my dhol night sharara, free running unicorns on my cocktail gown and a fairytale forest set-up of deers, trees and birds for blush pink wedding lehenga. Every detail, every gesture was poetry in motion. So be it the tiffany charm bracelet he got me as a wedding gift or how he had integrated the essence of my personality in the clothes, everything in our wedding decor and attire was symbolic and picked to mean something.
And yes, I did use the WMG app to look up photographers and make-up artists as well as the decorators. Also, reading the blog as a bride was an interesting part of the journey in general.
