There's something about a palace wedding. Priyanka Chopra Jonas had one, and if the regal vibe is what you dig, then it cannot get better than one in Rajasthan. Here is a wedding that not just had the charm of a palace wedding, but it was also unique in terms of the decor themes and the bridal outfits- all of which were sourced locally in Jaipur! Hitchkey Weddings planned this one to perfection, and as you read, you'll find so much that went into the planning of this special wedding for each and every event.
Meet Prachi and Shaleen
We met through parents. The first conversation was telephonic and post lockdown, he flew in to Mumbai to meet me. Well, there was more theater to the first date with a misunderstanding of sorts, which is a given for couples. But then they say, sometimes, two people have to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together. The second date at Marine Drive was like magic, where the weather played cupid and turned things around for us both, realizing we are meant to be. “ Jhail lenge hum” I whispered in his ears and we both smiled acknowledging the fact that we are inseparable from now on!
Mehendi
The festivities started with a fun Pastel Mehendi function. With pastel blooms, Criss cross drapes, and pretty floral touches, the décor at this mehndi, infused the venue with elegance and a contemporary charm. Set amidst the beautiful lawn of The Lalit, Jaipur, the theme of the event was inspired by the bride's love for pastels. The couple entered on a decked-up tricycle. Rousing music and dance were the highlight of this fun event. Prachi loves Pani Puri and to showcase her love for the same, we had a corner called “Prachi’s Pani Puri Stall” where guests relished pani puri shots, India s most love street food.
Haldi
Sangeet
Weddings are all about the couple, but this one was one of the most personalized Sangeet ceremonies ever. The evening witnessed a Glitter & Glam themed Sangeet. We wanted to create an aura of love and wanted their love story from the day they first met to the day of their wedding, to be the theme for this function. Hence the hashtag #Shaachistory. An alluring verdant passage with a huge book installation ornamented with floral décor and their wedding hashtag, opened up to a magical night of opulence. Hitchkey had designed their love story books and had split it into 8 chapters, with each chapter being the unique centerpiece, aesthetically adorning the guest tables for the evening.
Wedding
Kicking off with a spirited baraat, the groom entered on a floral chariot with a highly energized Jia Band. When the baraat entered the venue, they were welcomed with flower shower and a playback of Prachi s father recording of a very heartwarming speech played in the background. The bridal entry was mystical. She entered with 11 priests holding huge diyas and chanting mantras with instrumental flute music playing in the background. For the varmala ceremony, we lit the gorgeous venue with 120 cold pyros to create that breathtaking moment along with flower shower on the couple. The phera mandap was inspired by the Amer Fort’s Sheesh Mahal with rich and regal glass inlay design called thikri work. The gathering was high on emotions while the priest recited the vows.
From The Bride:
A Palace wedding is what I always wanted and Jaipur is special to me as my parents got married there. Plus, all my relatives are there too. However, the most challenging thing was having a wedding during Omicron. The fear of it, impacted our guest list, location and date. But soon, things started settling in with cases dropping and we went ahead.
